Why would you stagger RPF1's...

I just laugh to myself whenever I see someone stagger wheels on an already well setup car. When I had my 3-series BMWs, the goal was always to run a square (unstaggered) setup to reduce understeer and get the car more balanced. But in the RX8 world, I guess it works the other way.

I couldn't find RPF1's in 18X9, only 18X8 and 18X9.5. I think I like the PF01's better, and less than a pound per wheel isn't that big of a difference is it? Going from a 24 lb wheel to a 19 lb wheel should still greatly improve driving I would think. Any input since you have both kstr?

You have to realize that if you got a 18x9.5 you would put a wider than stock tire on it...which would be heavier..So it'll be about the same weight as the stock wheel...

True. This is why I said width isn't a huge deal for me since I don't track the car. So PF01's in 18X7.5 could end up being lighter than the 18X9.5 RPF1?

ouch red rex, do not get 18x7.5! You do not want a smaller width wheel than stock. Get 18x8 if your worried about weight.

I'd suggest getting an 18x9 PF01 with a 245 tire all around. It should weigh a bit less than an 18x9.5 RPF1 with a 265 or 275 tire.

One other thing to keep in mind, the PF01s hub centric ring is a two piece (one of which is a thin metal ring). I've already lost one PF01 due to my mechanic being careless and this ring ended up sandwiched between the wheel and hub. I ended up buying an aftermarket one-piece ring (like the RPF1 uses) so this hopefully doesn't happen again.

Wheel weight is not so important that you should have 1lb influence your decision if you don't track the car. Looks are worth more than a pound per corner imo.

I don't have that many pics but here are two more. I'm running them in 18x9 with 245 Hankook RS3s.

Chino's car looks ****** hot with the RPF1's. Maybe he's just getting a really good angle? Cuz again some pics like his I'm sold on the rims. Then I see other shots at different angles and it makes me second guess them on the spot.

The lowering does help a lot. How much did you lower your car? Any complications?
