Damn that sucks, you should look into a car cover and a car canopy. They're not too expensive.
I got mine tucked away in a garage this year with the mazda car cover which is pretty awesome.

Car cover could scratch paint and accumulate humidity inside the cover.
The snow is fluffy so it won't scratch, the temperature of the car stays constant so rust shouldn't form, and the snow also protects the paint from the sun.
4th year I've stored it like this and no problems!

Let's see a pic of your rotors, and undercarriage!
I haven't seen any scratches from my car cover, if you buy a cheap one maybe. Also good quality car covers breath to let excessive moisture out.
If I were to buy another cover, I'd buy one of these. Carbag - Protective jackets for your car or motorcycle

To each they're own.
I under-coated my car at work, using the same stuff I've seen 13 year old cars throughout salt blasted winters, worth it to keep the underside from rusting.
Basically (without going into detail) rust forms from moisture being present where oxidation can begin - that white fluffy stuff.
There's other concerns you're forgetting. Rodents love to build nests, chew on wiring, and once they chew enough wires, a engine harness is NOT fun or cheap on ANY car. I've seen several on cars parked and stored outside

That's an interesting rust theory because I've never seen, heard, or saw any technical article supporting the fact that rust won't form if kept at a consistent temperature - one your mentioning isn't really all that consistent being in an environment with that big firey bright thing in the sky.

Rust in general forms easier with temperature change, and of course salt on the road, which the car isn't exposed to at all. Moisture is very limited when the temperature kept constant, but when you go from cold to hot or hot to cold, it accumulates much quicker.
Like I said, the paint is protected from the sun by the snow, so you can count that aspect out.
3 previous seasons my car came out running no problem, no new rust on the body or anything.
