Aggressive Wheel Fitment Thread

Stretched or square, concave or lip - doesn't matter as long as the wheels are low offset and a nice width. Your own car, something you found on the forum, something you stumbled upon searching google - If its got aggressive fitting wheels and its an rx8, it belongs in this thread.

Rules/Guidelines:
Wheel width MUST be 9" or wider!
Offset MUST be +30mm or lower!
Post Specs!
Post brand/model of wheels!

looks great, you should make some rules for this thread tho.

How about greater than 9" lower than 30?

TopGear8 06-02-2009 12:11 PM

Yeah people are going to have different impressions of what is aggressive in their eyes, and what isn't. So honestly, There will be too much controversy in this thread to make it a good one.

Huey52 06-02-2009 12:16 PM

"Aggressive" in this context I believe are low numbered positive offsets, which results in fender-protruding rims. Conservative would be high numbered offsets (e.g. our stock +50mm), which are effectively 'tucked into' the wheel wells.

Ross_Dawg 06-02-2009 01:28 PM

I like where this thread is heading...

Im picking up some track rims soon and want a super aggressive stance.

tiltmode43 06-02-2009 01:36 PM

Good input guys...

Jedi - With regards to specs, it really shouldn't be that big of a deal - we already have a thread for that "The Yes it Fit Thread" and perhaps the will it fit thread. Total Failure? Sound like someone's just a bit upset they can't be posting in this thread :buttslay:
You are right, though, if there becomes a "required" spec to post, hrmmm...

Imput - Yeah, that sounds about right, I'm going to add that to the first post. To be honest, I wasn't sure how people would respond to this thread so I made the post a bit conservative, lmao

Huey52 - You've somewhat got the idea...

I'm going to update post one to see where this goes...

dozer 06-02-2009 01:38 PM

yeah make rules, cus i can say mines aggressive too

oh yeah, because sorting through endless pages there is MUCH better then you guys just posting your specs of your "super agressive" wheels here. :uhh:

see, we can agree on something afterall. :)

Curious to see where this thread goes. Have at it guys...

Another rule is it is cheating if you have wide body kit no?

:boxing_sm

Oh yeah, because members looking for new wheels are all going to be wanting "super" aggressive setups that require work to fit and judge their purchase solely by pictures and specs posted :uhh:

Hopefully you realize I was joking with that next comment ;)

I too am curious to see what happens.

I don't think enough members have wide-bodies or over fenders for it to be an issue, good point though

What would be the point of making a thread for RX8's with only Aggressive set ups if they do not post the specs of the wheels... Obiviously people will be asking what everyone's specs are if they have posted in this thread, so why would you not post the specs... I think this thread would just be a big Failure if there were a bunch of pictures of "RX8's with agressive wheels" and no info about the size/offset of the wheel...

pdxhak 06-02-2009 02:10 PM

Just need 1 rule. I wish my car was on hellaflush.com :lol:

30 or less for offset is not a good measurement. +35 could be aggressive. Just depends on wheel and tire combo.

Up to the owner, some wish to disclose, some wish not to. Just because it was not originally a "rule" or "requirement" doesn't mean the owner couldn't post it. A bit irrelevant now though...

TopGear8 06-02-2009 02:21 PM

^Yeah I mean I understand what your saying, its just that when someone post a picture in this thread, with out specs. The next few comments will most likely be people asking what the specs are, and others speculating about the correct specs of the wheels posted. Why have people do that and clutter the thread, instead of simply posting a picture of the wheels, along with the specs. It would make the thread much more clean and easy to navigate.

Agreed, I have a feeling this thread won't go anywhere if we totally axe the chit-chat :lol:

Atilla 06-02-2009 02:35 PM

would it be cheating if I used spacers?? :D:

10mm spacers would push me out into the +20 range :D:

Im_DANomite 06-02-2009 02:40 PM

you can't specify an offset range. cause a 11" wide rim won't fit with a +30 or lower, but still considered aggressive!!

Exactly! I mention that a few posts back as well.

Atilla 06-02-2009 02:43 PM

ok so how about a range?

8.5's = no higher than +25
9's = no higher than +30
9.5's = no higher than +35
10's = no higher than +40
10.5's = no higher than +45
11's = no higher than uhhh +48???

shit, i just canceled myself outta there...:icon_no2:
