It's alright Rodjonathon. Sorry if I sounded a little abrupt too.
But in all my experience in trouble shooting it usually is the simplest thing that has failed. In your case you more than likely just need a new battery.

Is this in Automatic Mode or in Sport (manual) Mode? And can you elaborate a bit more on what exactly is happening.

the tranny doesnt shift out of second into third when in automatic mode. it does fine when just casually driving, but whenever i decide to get on it a little it wont shift.

Just won't shift at all? Won't shift out of second into third PERIOD? Or does it just take a little longer to shift than your use to?

The trans will shift at the RPM appropriate for the engine load. So if your pushing the pedal a little harder than usual it will stay in gear a bit longer.

no it just wont **** at all. for example when im getting off a ramp heading on to the interstate the car will downshift into second and just wind up to about 6 grand and just stay in second gear until i shift it back into manual mode and **** if manually into third and 4th gear. no idea as to why it is doing this but i know its not normal any ideas?

Could be an issue with the Transmission Control Module. That controls the shifting in Automatic mode.
It reads Engine Load and RPM and decides when to shift the trans into the next gear.
I wouldn't think it was a shift solenoid in the trans because it shifts fine in manual mode and your over riding the Module to a degree.

yeah because coils and/or plugs make the dash light up like a christmas tree all the time.

Repeat after me, to your car:
"The power of Christ compels you....."

If the headlights spin around backwards, run.

Have you ever had the ECU out?
Checked the ECU connections lately?

just quoting myself here cuz my suggestion seems to have been dissmissed out of hand .

Battery seems way more likely but the only reason i mentioned this is cuz of the gearchange problem , which is not battery related .

Just as an easy possible fix, reset the ECU. As Easy said, it could be an issue with the Transmission Control Module so by resetting the ECU, it will reboot the module and possibly fix whatever bug it could have gotten. Not a for sure fix, but it is easy and quick so its worth a shot.

pretty sure its not the battery thats causing the instrument lights to come on becuase it tested just fine. reset the ecu a few times and everything is still the same as before, minus the check engine light after i replaced the spark plugs.
