Angry Rant + Flooding Issue + Warrenty work

I love my 8, but she seems very needy lately...I treat her well...let her warm up...oil change every 2500k...keep an eye on the levels....detail every two weeks...etc..

2004 AT with 9765mi

I had the week off so I figure I would take the 8 in for the recalls, and the vibration issues.

I call the dealer to make the appointment on Monday, and they take me on Thursday...ok whatever, I get the car back on Fri and I get a rental a Mazda 6...that car feels like mush compared to the 8.

The work done:

1. Ball joint (done)
2. Gas Tank (done)
3. Foggy rear tail light (had go back Fri to get this done...again 3xs so far)
4. Inspection/Oil Change (done?)
5. The vibration is narrowed down to the Motor Mounts (suprise...back ordered part)
6. Front Break Squeel (new pads/rotors?)

I drove the car from the dealer to my house...and parked it on Friday night.

Sunday rolls around and it snowed last night so i figure i'd go get her started and get the heat kickin before I started my day. Well that did not turn out so well...tried the flooding proceedure and even daisy chained the RAV 4 to the battery still no worky.

I ended up calling the Mazda Tow.

So my concern is that the dealer that made the orginal repairs left out a spare part or did some other strange thing to my car. I did not have a flooding issue last year when it was nasty and cold...the car always worked....but today no start and flooding proceedure did not work. I am having the car towed to another mazda dealer today...b/c I just don't trust the gents at my current dealer.

My major issue is that this is a NEW car...I had a musle car with a 390 and her motor mounts went and she never fully recovered. This is not a used car with issues, this is a new car that simply will not start....has break issues....has motor mount issues...ball joint issues...etc...I love the 8,i love the rotary, but i can't keep taking off every time my car needs attention....only to hear that parts are on back order....if i hear that story one more time.....arg. mabye I should trade it in for the honda civic ;-)

Has anyone negioaited a new car from Mazda ? With all the work that has had to be done to their 8 ?

The Lemon law is nearly the only way to get a buyback out of a car dealer. And you don't meet that criteria. The parts issue is a pita, this may be the cause of me never buying another Mazda vehicle after this one. Every single time I've needed parts, I've had to jump through hoops and wait forever for them to show up. I'm still trying to get parts I paid for over 2 months ago out of my current dealer. They did move half way through and had 2 of their parts guys quit in the middle of it, so I'm giving them a little leeway on this one.

On the other hand, I've never had any issues out of the car. All the parts I've needed were for accident repairs. The current set being a bunch of plastic pieces for damage caused by a suicidal cat.

Red face Update FYI

I got the car back today from second car dealer.

Car is fixed up pretty good now. All the re-programming is now done. The flooding proceedure is done...new starter, battery, plugs etc... They also told me that the orginal dealer did not change out the oil or the filter (that I paid for).

I still have an issue with the mounts...and the breaks squeeling but mazda is trying to locate the mounts.

I also got a few words of advice...from the good dealer synthetic is a no no! If the engine should fail and they find synethic oil in the motor it is not covered under warrenty.

I found a new dealer for service and so far I have no complaints....he pointed out the failures of the other dealer and repaired them.

I am going to investigate the warrenty tomm....I belive it is 4 years or 40K bumper to bumper, but with all her problems lately....can't hurt to check....I am also considering trading her in for an 05 or 06....hoping that these "little" problems might be fixed in the newer models.

The only issues I've had with my '05 was the brake rotor rust and squeaky front brakes. All fixed now under warranty. She stills runs as smooth as butta. I've even shut it off cold several times and never flooded it.
