Motor Mounts
I have a 2nd hand 2004, and am looking to replace the motor mounts. Any idea if a motor mount bracket is also required? I have heard the passenger side mounts on the early models were prone to heat soak damage. Is the bracket part of the fix? i.e. to relocate the mount further away from the exhaust manifold.

I was looking at oem because all my internet searches revealed only mazdaspeed & original oem mounts. They want a fortune for the Madzaspeed version. The rx8 performance mounts look nice, but until I get a part number for the neutral safety on a 6MT I do not want any additional taint massage at idle.

Does the motor mounts in series 1 rx8 go bad or just the inserts. I was thinking about replacing them with bhr inserts but I don't know if I have to buy the whole motor mounts and inserts or if the bhr mounts will work with oem mounts..can anyone else me with this ..

Oem mount is a 1 piece deal, if it cracks, oil inside leaks out, ur car shakes, replace it
Mazdaspeed mount can only be ordered from Japan and they are about 30% stiffer than stock. U get less drivetrain shock but ur ride comfort will suffer by a bit. But just like everything else directly from Japan, it's freaking expensive
