That pipe will be LOUD and I believe raspy. Racing beat has a very nice dual resonated midpipe that is $365 it is only $95 more and well worth it. If I were you I would either get the racing beat dual res or the BHR midpipe, nothing else really compares. The bare minimum BHR pipe raises the price to $450 though.
I went the cheap route and bought an agency power midpipe for ~$200 and it actually sounds pretty good once you get beyond 4k rpms. Around 3500-4500 it has a really nasty resonating sound that is either from the midpipe or from the stock exhaust paired with it. Either way it sounds like crap around those rpms.
Also remember to not throw away your old messed up cat, it is worth money to the right people because of the platinum that it creates inside it from use.

Extraordinary Engineering
I tried a REV8 with a straight mid pipe it is LOUD!!! and stinky.
I'm running with a high flow cat welded into the same mid pipe and the same REV8 and it sounds great!

Darkbrew did the midpipe have any resonators at all or were you running the same thing he said he bought? Not sure if I have heard an 8 before that had just the pipe and no resonators or anything. I know my ap midpipe is pretty damn loud to me so I cant really imagine a straight pipe there.

I emailed Racing Beat to see iif I can change it. To the resonated one. I knew it was ggoing to be louder but wasn't aware it was really louder. Ill see what they say.
I tried to find aa sounds clip but I cant find one anywhere.

Maybe it wont be crazy loud. I think it will have a dirtier sound to it though. Here is a clip of that pipe but with a greddy sp2 exhaust of course cameras cant really do justice to an exhaust note so I dunno.

I ended up getting a Davesport cat welded in just ahead of the O2 bung.
I posted somewhere here what it sounds like.
