check engine light- mechanic says code reads below threshold

had my car in the shop after the check engine light came on. my mechanic told me the code read emissions below threshold and that's it's common. the light is off now. is this something that could cause more problems for me in the future? and should i do something now to fix this from possibly happening again?

What was the code? sounds like an O2 sensor code of some kind. We would need more info to help you figure it out

I have the same code on in my car, P0420 is the code number. Cat below threshold, I don't have a cat hence my code. If you have the factory cat still installed this is covered under your extended warranty if it hasn't expired yet or you are not over your miles.

No dice might as well get rid of the cat if the code comes back

Besides a CEL nope, I have a full 3" engine back exhaust with no cats car runs fine except for that damned orange engine light. You can get rid of the CEL with an acessport if you want to spend the money
