Let's see... '04 MT purchased in Jan '12 with 114K miles.

- Fuel pump was worn out when I got home from the lot 114K
- Clutch wore out about 117K, Exxedy (stage 1?) replacement from BHR.
- Catalytic Converter clogged around 120K, replaced with straight piped, subsequently gutted my cat for inspection - YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT!
- Coils @ 123K, but you already said bahumbug. lol
- Thermostat clogged at around 126K, replaced that and water pump with RE-medy versions.
- Radiator blew at the same time my water pump belt came off after the above install. Dumbass me Shoulda tightened the belts better.

It seems to me my car likes major things replaced in 3,000 mile intervals. I'm almost at 128K, I'm getting nervous...

It my be worth mentioning that my engine is one tough cookie however. It's survived a choking clogged cat, 254'F temps, and 13,000 RPMS (from a 3-2 mis-shift at 90mph). Stills pulls hard, idles fine, and (until recently, need new plugs from heavy premix), gets great gas mileage. Once I get a Miata I'm boosting my 8. I know it can handle it

Compression is low 5's across the board.
They had 24 misfires when testing the compression ~ new coils, wires, plugs
Motor mount is about 75% collapsed

I think that is about it right now

New motor should be on the boat soon!

Adding to my list of broken parts, I broke the elbow pipe on the Air Intake's accordion tube, the one which connects the rubber hose from the oil filler tube to the intake.

My Advanced Keyless Entry stopped working on my 8 a little while ago. Replaced battery a while back and it stopped working shortly thereafter. Been using the Aux Key ever since.

Really should get that fixed. With how small that key is it's just begging to get lost. (It already has once. THAT was embarassing.)

2007, Touring, A/T - 35000 miles, second owner, bought 3/2012, put 12000 miles since purchased. I have the service history from the previous owner. Only 2 warranty items were done:

TSB about fuel filler neck
Replaced driver's courtesy light

So far I've only had normal maintenance items: tires, oil/filter, coils/plugs/wires, rear diff fluid change, coolant flush (Zerex Asian spec)

Things that are broken

Coolant tank sensor issue - I'll replace sometime this fall
Engine mount(s) - not confirmed yet, but occasional idle stumbles but only when in drive.

Everything else on the car is solid and for almost 7 years old it still feels brand new. I think I got a good one.

This car sure knows how to make me sad. I've been chasing a P0171 CEL. Narrowed it down to possible fuel pump. While removing the main discharge line I do smell a bit of fuel. After removal I see there is no o-ring just a basket. Than bad news became shitty news when I accidentally broke discharge tube as well. It's embarrassing, but I leaned in to inspect the tube I lost my balance and put my weight on it and snapped it. I guess she will be down for a bit more time.

If the CEL doesn't go away after this, I may lose my mind.

2006 Brilliant Black Shinka - 77,000 miles

Air conditioning compressor leaking coolant from crack in the housing. I bought the vehicle (3rd owner) and this problem was present. Dealer charged the system, 30 days later refrigerant all gone. Unaware of the problem, to it to a Mazda dealer to track down the leak, they charged the system, didn't find a leak. 30 days later, refrigerant all gone again. Took it to local HONDA dealer, problem identified right away. $1800 system replacement. Thank God for that aftermarket warranty. Cost me $50 outta pocket. Woot!

2005 BB 101,985miles

Oil pan has a slight leak a small tiny leak it oozes on to the pan more or less occasionally drop but not really a huge concern. (doesn't effect oil level, even over an oil change period.)

My Sohn adapter has a small leak despite being extremely tight.

coilovers squeak and clunk. (30,000+miles on them)

interior rattles all over the dash area (only while at start up idle and air pump is on)

Side mirrors rattle ( very annoying )

center console button finally gave way and broke after I fixed it for millionth time. ( dont care any more just removed the spring and left it as is)

rear bumper isn't clipped in properly {one I cam outside and it was like that :-0? it very unnoticable though :-)}

sunroof rattles on the way back.

I think that about sums it .

You can fix those noisy side mirrors very easily! Pop the glass out take the painted cover off and place a small piece of foam in between the cover and mirror and reassemble.

2007 SS 24,240 miles as of this morning. Original owner. Weekend fun-car only since day one, stored during winter.

Nothing leaks, nothing rattles, nothings worn out or broken. No dings, no scratches. Still tight and a hint of "new car smell" still lingering.

If you've made it this long without door dings, why stop now

Thanks. The wheels are ASA AR-1. I first saw them on azlizard's car in Vegas in 2010 and had to have a set. I've got 245 Yokohamas on them.

OK, linkie no workie here apparently. Just look for them at Tire Rack's website, or wheel purveyor of your choice.

The little clip that holds the tiny coolant hose at the top of the coolant tank against the ECU box. Broke that stinky thing on accident leaning into my engine bay.

147,0xx -- EPS went batshit insane. Would stutter when cold, sometimes you could set it off and just watch it wiggle all by itself. Tried cleaning all the connectors -- no help. Replaced the harness -- no help. Had rack replaced -- half go... was hard to turn right.. went back... another day gone.. car's good now.

Butcher's bill was so bad that I could've probably bought an FB or an NA and prep it for autox and still have some coin left.
