I have a 2005 MT 8

I've been having this problem for over two years now (the problem initially described by superman). Initially started as a slight grind shifting into 4th. No, at this point I did not have RP. I had about 80-90k miles on it at the time and it was about time to replace the clutch anyways, so I did based on the mechanics recommendation.

I wish that I had him check out the transmission. My car is now at 102k give or take 500 miles and shifting into 2/3/4 produces a grind with out double clutching. Along with all of this, I had my clutch pedal stick to the floorboard and it took a few tries to get it back in its correct position. This hasn't happened again, but, ever since then I hear a really subtle rattling sound when I start my car for the first time in the day; disappears the moment I press in the clutch. I suppose that just might be the throw out bearing though.

So I have gone to a couple of different places to get opinions, the tranny place said that the tranny was fine but the clutch is about shot. I go to another place and that mechanic says the synchros are bad.

Based on all the reading I have done today I am going to try switching out to mt90 and see if that temporary fix will hold me over until I get enough money to purchase everything I need. But I'm fairly certain that its the synchros. Clutch doesn't slip, and aside from the throw out, everything is fine with it.

Keep in mind that I have little experience in doing work myself and I will most likely get the fixes done professionally. I would just like some input, advise, suggestions, or a confirmation. I am aware that it was extremely stupid to continue on driving over the past couple of years with out full knowledge of what is actually wrong with my car, but there hasn't been much I could do when I have been heavily dependent on my car for work + uni.

Sounds like you might have a master or slave problem..........Your clutch pedal shouldn't get stuck on the floor unless there is a hydraulic leak or problem with the cylinders

Can anyone give me some advice on dealing with the dealership about a manual transmission issue.
I'm a new owner of a 2010 R3 so I thought it's still under the PT warranty (5 year 60K)? and the gears are knotchy, grind and occasionally pop out of gear (mostly 2nd and 4rth, 3rd once as well) when high revving.
I took it into Avante Mazda (GTA) and had them change my tranny fluid but that didn't seem to help at all. Got Service guy to take it for a spin and he says it feels "okay" and that the manual transmission isn't covered under warranty so just for taking a look and opening it up is going to cost a couple thousand!? There's also a significant knock sound going into first (I think maybe this is normal, again service guy completely ignores me asking about it). Clutch is also slow to disengage.
I know there's something wrong because I've now driven several RX-8s and none of them felt rough like mine.

TL:DR R3'10 glitchy tranny, dealership being very unhelpful, how can I get them to take my concerns seriously? Also told me manual tranny is not covered under warranty?

any help greatly appreciated
