Same thing happened to me. But, I have never flooded my car. Here is my thread that I started. I took it into my Mazda dealer, they replaced the battery and hasn't happened since.

If the new plugs, battery, and starter all seem to significantly reduce the risk of flooding, why then does Mazda not put them in there straight from the factory? Expense? Doesn't 7k RPMs put a considerable amount of stress on a cold engine?

You can't rev a cold engine to seven grand. So I'm led to believe.

you rev to 3500 because at no load that is the leanest part of the fuel map. revving to 7k does no good.

if you ever drove fiats .. or anything that probably would be 30yrs old now .. youd know the rev before shut off was a standard procudure

i dont know about 7k on a cold renesis .. but back in the day when i got to 7-8k on my cold si vtec .. it was like the war of forks since the oil didnt quite warmed up and i guess wasnt distributed properly all over the engine

but it would be funny to park next to your favorite cvs and rev some chicks panties off before you get out of the car

I rev to 3K if I only go down the street to wallgreens or something, otherwise my trips are long enough to warm her up.

Cant imagine reving to 7K tho, I get enough dirty looks in parking lots going up to 3K. Overkill?
