I know for a fact that Chickenwafers' transmission failed very quickly when he made 325 ftlbs of torque . That equates to about 17-18psi at 5000 rpm on a Renesis .
And that my transmission has held up well while making 260ish ftlbs (10-11psi) at 5500 .

Not to turn this into a thread that compares other transmissions but i hear that a swap to the FD trans or the 09+ trans are an improvement. Anyone have any good info on this? I can not find any hard evidence on how they handle the power compared to the original series 1 trans. Kinda looking at my options since i am planning on mine going out soon.

Any info on the FD trans going in? I have read that its a option but i believe there are a few things that need to be changed to get it to fit properly in the car. However, you would think it would hold up well.

Quick answer is dont use the RX8 trans. If people with boosted eights are having issues with them then they would not be good for a project that will put down more power or torque then a boosted eight.
