Not all of my mix is oil, but roughly the same amount since Day One - July 23, 2003!

Sweet... nice fact

You do experience better response and mileage increase compared to others who don't premix, what are your ratios and mileage for 8oz.

Ok, what if I use Amsoil Interceptor and Lucas UCL (Upper Cylinder Lubricator?)
4oz Amsoil
1.5oz for UCL.

Would that be good?

I've always got around 21 mpgUK / 17.5 USmpg / 13.5 L100km

I've always premixed, so I can't speak about better response or mileage - it is what it is.....

i've now driven 1000 miles on 5w-20, premixed once, with off brand 2 cycle.

the premix makes it even more smooth, amazing i know. but i've always had this whizzing, or buzzing from the engine after 7.5k revs.

now i'm on 5w-30 synthetic....whizzing gone, and it seems like i'm noticing a performance gain. premixed with it too. smoothet i've ever had an engine.

very successful conversion too, 5 quarts out, 5 quarts in (took a while but i did it)

i really do recommend synthetic. i'm currently premixing with marvel mystery oil, and think it might not be lubricating enough.

synthetic oil - difference
2 cycle oil- difference
MMO - no difference.

with synthetic, and MMO, i guess you can say i get better mpg, i find i get consistent mpg now. i used to get random 20 mpg or 16 with same driving styles and routes. all city.

i'm a little on the broke side, so i'm going to be using mmo for a while (prevents carbon build up supposedly) i'll check in in a few weeks or so and compare soot build up.

I lowered my MMO premix from 7.5oz per fill up to 5oz per fillup and I still have crap gas millage..

however thinking back right before starting my month of premixing I switched to 10w-30 Castrol and I noticed lag immediately, I was using 5w-30 before I'm thinking I should switch back.

I seriously doubt the 5oz's of MMO lowered my MPG 2-3 points, but who knows.

You're premixing with 5w-30 4-cycle oil? Or did I misunderstand?

nono Premixing with MMO.. when I switched to 10w-30 I noticed some lag in the engine and shortly after my MPG decreased so I wasn't sure if it was the oil or the MMO.. I'm still getting used to the rotary's quirks... with my Celica I could put 20w-40 in it and still get 45 MPG...

I doubt 5w-30 (or MMO) is responsible for hurting your mileage that much. I never even noticed a difference when I switched from 5w-20 to 5w-30 and I can still get 26-28 mpg with cruise control at 65 mph on the Interstate and average 19 mpg overall.

Have you checked your coils, plugs, and wires?

All my ignition business is in good order just changed it all out 3k ago..

I wouldn't expect a noticeable shift in 5w-20 to 5w-30.. but my jump to 10w from 5w is more dramatic, I think I'm going back to 5w-30..

P.S. 26-28 mpg is quite amazing.

The first grade before the "w" is only relevant when you start the car and until your oil reaches its functioning temperature.

Then the second grade, after the "w" is the one that is relevant.

The only thing switching from 5w to 10w did, is have more risk of wear on your engine at cold start. That's it.

"Marvel Mystery Oil was good enough for my GranPappy!......and he had a HEMI!!"

Plus, it's got the word 'mystery' in the name! That's good enough for me...I mean - 'Mystery' - how could that be anything other than awesome?

lol... oh this site is so much fun... I miss having an older car because everyone knew what to expect most guys are still under 50k with their 8's...

Do you have any negative experience using MMO on a Renesis from an 04 rx8 with unknown millage?

i converted from dino 5w-20 to synthetic 5w-30

now premixing 8oz mmo.i don't feel like mmo is doing much.

back when i was on 5w-20, premixing 8 oz with 2cycle i noticed a difference.

saving up money to premix 2 cycle with the my new oil change.

a fine line between premix. the correct premix. premix done right.. flashes.

changing the oil and filter often.

gas quality, temperature,

and just karma..

wait, coils, wires, plugs, fuel pumps.

where and how you drive.. humidity, elevation, barometric pressure.

fuel quality, oil quality, and type..

does that cover it. or do you want a quick answer?

comments like, i can feel a difference between syn and dino oil are just stupid.. and the mmo vs premix is the same thing.

you cant figure one thing out in a tank of gas.. or a change of oil.

lots of info is out there by very smart people. one of which is stealth.. just for fun you might look for some jax8 posts..

hey, but what do they know?

dom. you should post less and read MORE. you are the king of the tards right now..

party on tard!

OMP pumping synthetic into the engine isn't a problem as long as you are using the right synthetics. The issue at hand is how they burn and what they leave behind. For example, I have heard to stay away from Mobil 1.

Additionally, the more frequent the oil changes the better, because the longer you wait, the dirtier the oil that is being injected into the engine.

But it's all probably just a crapshoot anyway. You got this **** spinning at 9K rpm, high temperatures, microscopic latent imperfections slowly growing over time, symmetry being lost, things getting scraped, carbon getting into bad places and hardening...

Sure we do what we can, but who really know how much good we do?
