The white is from heat/lean usually.

I didn't tear apart 9k's engine but I imagine pineapple found the rotors that way. Not sure why he took out the corner seals...

 

Its really easy to get your goat. You need some control dude. I am not going to go back over 40 years to give you some pics of my old torn down engines to satisfy your curiosity. You can believe the truth of my actual million miles of rotary experience or not, I don't care either way. There are thousands of rotary owners over the decades that know the value of the proper premix, and they also aren't going to give you graphs and photos which you probably wouldnt believe either. Contact Racing Beat and Pettit Racing who built my race car rotary engines over the decades , and ASK THEM if the right premix makes a difference. Maybe you will believe them.

 

After reading this thread over and over I have decided to start premixing. I am using 2 oz for 55 liters. I have read on here people premixing anywhere from 100:1 to 800:1. My car IS stock, has 88,000km on it. I use it as a DD over 100km all highway a day.

Dose anyone WITH premix experiance think 2 oz is to much or to little?

Like I said I did read this post a number of times but do not see any "set"
pre mix #'s.

The set premix numbers are generally half an ounce per gallon of fuel. Since you are using liters, 55 liters is about 14.5 gallons of fuel which normally I would put about 7 ounces of premix into the tank with.

This is a housing from a very old 13B....

Any rotary mechanic will have seen this - there is an almost unbroken circle around the housing, where the oil has protected the surface, like new.

Mazda obviously made the connection, in their updates to include more jets and more oil.

They probably also know that you'll never get that kind of protection, evenly distributed, without the fuel carrying the oil.

The fact that mixing oil and fuel would absolutely destroy sales will probably continue their sad quest for more jets.......

 

I tried this oil and my opinion is to NOT use this oil. I started increasing the amount of oil I was using trying to find that "sweet spot" people keep talking about. When I got up to 1/2 oz/gallon it did seem to run better.
On the third tank the engine started surging at a constant speed on the highway. I stopped adding oil and it cleared up. I started adding again and within a tank or two is started surging again.
I think this oil is fouling the plugs I only have 20,000 on the plugs right now.

i still don't get the "rx8 needs oil often" and premixing? I'm a noob that just wanna take good care of my car lol. what should i use and how often do i need to use "the suggested oil" for a AT 70kmiles rx8. called up my friend he said that i can put 10w-40 oil on my car.

also regarding the carbon build up. does it really help to redline everyday? I'm kinda scared whenever i red line mine. i have on 04 mazda rx8 automatic. lol

You will laugh, but I had 90K on plugs in my 05 RX9 before they were replaced. The only reason I replaced them then is because I took the car in after being flooded and the dealer told me it flooded because the plugs were old.

Of course that was BS. They were working fine until my wife moved the car and shut it down after only running it for a few seconds. The new plugs didn't stop it from happening again 2 weeks later.

After that she refused to touch my car again. Fine with me. She had also put the only ding in it.

 

I wish you had pictures of those plugs... lol. Are you positive they had 90k on them, as in you owned the car from mile 1 to 90k?

Since your post is a little confusing I will try to clarify a few things. You ask "how often to use the oil on your car" that could mean anything. You premix by putting TWO CYCLE oil in your gas, do not try and mix in 10w40 as it sounds like that is your plan??? You can use 10w40 oil in your engine just fine but thats for another thread. Check it every fill up at the gas station and add more when needed. Don't be scared to redline it, its not going to hurt anything. If you drive this car like an old lady then you will end up having issues sooner rather than later.

 

Plugs can have a short life. 12-20k is the most i'd expect from them in top shape under daily driving.

 

Mine still looked pretty decent at 30k, I need to pull a plug now and see how it looks after 6k miles to compare.

 

I have over 20k on my 40th Anniversary edition and the plugs are fine.They easily can last much longer than 20k in daily driving. I do plan to change coils, wires and plugs at 30k just to be ahead of the curve.

 

That's the point...
I have never seen a set of spark plugs with 50.000km or more that I would keep.
Even at 30.000km they can be due for a change if a lot of stop and go traffic is involved.
That's mostly ignition and driving habits dependant though.
