no - don't do that . Just use the proceedure in your manual - so long as you have a strong battery/starter it will work .

I hope you mannaged to de-flood without having it towed to the garrage. I've owned my 04 std since 06 and I've had to tow it 5 times alread and right now she is flooded again. $300-$400 each time except the first 2 paid by Mazda. This is not right, someone show start a class action lawsuit!

That's unusual. Most folks flood it once or twice but then don't have issues again once they learn the warm up trick. Are you flooding even after warming the car up or are you shutting it off cold frequently?

Geez. You don't even know his issue! Chill man!

Chasvo: Looking at your other posts it sounds like you have an issue with not having enough juice to turn over the car and it floods in the cold. Do you still have that Boomerang system on the car? If so do you have the updated starter motor and a larger battery.

No one else seems to have the problems you do and no one else seems to have that Boomerang system. I don't think you're special or doing anything silly, I think that system is your culprit. I would yank it and see if it helps.

I had backed out before and the car shut off. Took it to Mazda and two of the coils were bad. They replaced them for an absurd price. Looked up a DIY and replaced the other two on my own. Solved the issue. Might want to also check out the plugs. After you deflood, if you choose to do that, I believe it's recommended to change your oil, too.
