Brett, is that AFR in the green? If so any concerns with being above 12? How much boost you running? 6 psi?

Don't know any detail on the porting work done sorry .

I'm just waiting for BS flags to appear - I can hardly believe the result myself .

However : Look at how the torque curve does not drop away after 7000 like most 8s

Also - my greddy turbo on a stock block was only making marginally more power than this (on the same dyno) at 5 psi !

The fact that is flat is just because the top end is so good . You can't fake that . As for torque being too much - I agree - you can ignore the torque numbers - they never seem to get the calibration right on that dyno . By my calcs peak torque is 155 lbft .......but ..... I can say this for a fact ... It is the quickest NA RX8 I've driven by a reasonable margin.

Did you notice it has an electric water pump OD ? !!!!

Maybe - It's the only thing on the list that has a big ? about it .

Porting will have helped too but not by that much . Have a look at the slope of the plot after 7500 and see if you can find any other dyno of an 8 that just keeps going up and up like that ! An extra 27 odd whp after 7500 !

just thought I'd pop in and see what the yapping was all about

any way, I found this in about 5 seconds ..

DynoTorque Dynamometer's

When I started Torque Performance in 1992 there were no 4wd chassis dynos commercially available in New Zealand or Australia.

The dynos from Europe were too expensive to consider, So I got together with a friend and designed our first 4wd chassis dyno.

A little while later workshop owners were knocking at the door asking if they could purchase a control system the same as ours for their existing dynobeds.

Dyno Torque was born.

Today we are still manufacturing Dyno Control Systems for existing dynos and last year started making complete dyno sets.

The photos below are of a 4WD DynoTorque Dyno installed in December 2006 (Total Performance Center) in Hamilton, New Zealand.

different dynos crank out different results, not familiar with this one and have no idea how the number it may crank out will compare against any other dyno

Electric water pumps may or may not be a good idea. It depends on how our alternator deals with them. It's true that you remove a parasitic loss but it's also true that the alternator has to work more to keep the ewp running. As the alternator gets hotter it should draw more power from the engine to keep running. Of course that doesn't happen after a run on a dyno...
Somebody should test it after running the car for a couple of hours to see how our alternator deals with it.

.
The EWP has been track tested and had no issues . I had to call the manufacturer re a faulty controller and he gave me the low down . According to him the power to drive the alternator is insignificant in comparison to that required to drive a mechanical pump ..... especially true at 9000 rpm i would expect , where the stock pump is known to cavitate .

95 octane (US 91) pump gas
Only cooling upgrade is the electric water pump.

dan has been running the ewp--maybe he has some insight concerning the difference.
I wouldnt think it would be 20 rwhp, but i would believe 5-10.

He has oem exhaust except for a race midpipe?

Tend to agree - just thought it worth discussing .

The manifold is stock - after that it is a single outlet race pipe. Have not been under to see how good it is etc.
