some of the best wear properties, ashless / smokeless, and in my opinion when comparing my plugs from when i ran saber to when i run idemitsu, the saber plugs were a lot cleaner.

Best of my knowledge from what my tech told me when I did my tuneup the green crap is left behind sometimes from cheap gas. Its like a corrosion from it. Shell 93 V-Power only for me!

Been using Chevron 93* from the same gas station since I bought the car. In fact I been using that gas station since I moved here 6 years ago. Just on my last car I used regular.

^....okay, I believe it was all that other stuff you have been running through there......didn't you also seafoam or something like two or three times in a short period of time on that set of plugs, or am I remembering something else????

I did when I had ran seafoam thru the mop lines. But that was probably a year ago now.

Well, I pulled the plugs out yesterday.... They're shot... They look worse than the plugs posted here... Maybe I just need hotter plugs?

And yes the green **** was on these plugs too.

I've also cut back on the oil, for both OMP maps and premix.

I tried cleaning them with some carb cleaner and a old tooth brush. Trailing came out good. But the leading still look like crap.

Soak them in seafoam overnight and scrub them with the toothbrush.

I managed to get all the gunk off mine with 15k miles on them.

Though I had to buy a new trailing as part of the ceramic coating had broken off in the engine at some point.

Update;

Okay, so I "think" I found the problem.

I pulled the new plugs with about 900 miles on them. They are already showing excessive oil build-up. Now these new plugs never saw a drop of premix. So I know it's not the saber pro messing them up.

Today, stuck in gridlock, I was looking at the live data feed from the Cobb....

Idling @875rpm the mop stepper motor is at 15. Which is really high. So I started looking at other stuff. Turns out my low compression motor is sitting at 50% load when idling (no load).

Pic 1, Stock MOP Map.

Look at rpm range 720-3000. What happens at 50% load? It goes from step 6 to 19 @50% load. For some strange reason its actually higher in the 720-1000 (19) than 1500-2000 (16).

So when you adjust the map (I think multiplied by +1.45) You move all the values up and adjust any setting higher than 60, back to 60.

Pic 2, This is the map I used for about 15k miles. One set of plugs lasted 20k (about 10k on stock map) 2nd set didn't even make it 5k. 3rd set is already showing signs of the same faith.

Pic 3, Is the map I just installed into the car. Hopefully, this will solve the issue with fouling the plugs.

Some good news, I got that ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight. Seems to work, still want to try different chemicals to clean them with.

Holy sheite , you upped it by 45% !!! That's way more than I would do . Also you don't get 50% load at idle by having a low compression engine , something else is up.

Okay, so that's not the number, 1.45 is the number they were arguing about for dwell times.

Seems it is a 33% increase I used. But still, first set of plugs had 10k on them when I upped the mop and lasted another 10k miles.

What else could it be causing the high load at idle? When I cruise in 4th gear @40mph engine load is around 40-42%, A/C on.

I am seeing 31% at idle with A/c on. What it a normal Idle load range.

Condition of spark plugs with "heavy" premixing.
My Dutch 231 hp 6 speed Rex has run 35.500 km's now on standard 95 RON gasoline.
My OMP 4 stroke oil consumption was increased by 65%, due to adaption of a 2 mm inner bore restrictor in the vacuumtube of the OMP. The standard 4 stroke oil consumption of 1.0 litre per 4.000 km's was raised to 1,65 litres per 4.000 km's (moderate driving style; 3/4/5k rpm, hardly no redlining). The socalled "Woorrmser-adapter" (1,5 to 3,0 mm inner bore restrictor; 2 mm most adapted) is frequently used by German Rexowners to increase the OMP output in a simple way, generally reporting the same increase in oil consumption as previously stated.
My average fuelconsumption is 11,5 litre per 100 km / 8,7 km's per litre (20,6 mls per gallon)
The 4 stroke oil consumption related to the gasoline consumption is 3,6 ml per 1.000 ml gasoline (1:277)
I aditionally started premix at 8.000 km's with a Jaso FC-FD synth. 2 stroke oil at a rate of 6,4 ml per 1.000 ml gasoline. (1:156)
The total (4 plus 2 stroke) oil consumption is 10 ml per 1.000 ml gasoline (1:100).
The condition of the spark plugs after 27.500 km's with the upper oil consumption is excellent, as per attached picture.......(NGK RE9B-T / RE8C-L, left / right)............

Before I had my Cobb I actually found your data and used it to increase my oil rates.

Drove to work this morning now engine load sits at 40% idle... Wth. Only thing I changed on the map is what I posted...

AFIK, equivalent load is relative to rpm (and other stuff). So 40% EL at idle means you're running 40% of maximum load @900 rpm. 40% EL is 40% of maximum load @3500 rpm.

Experts, feel free to correct this if incorrect ...
