that's they way I am doing it....waiting for the greddy to crap out. it will take a while for the gt3071r to be ready after ordering it anyways. might as well have fun with the car during that time with the greddy turbo.

ill probably be helping install when the time comes...

Mclovin, i say do that ^

A shame to have a turbo kit sitting in the garage for months and not use it. You are gonna find stuff you wanna do after you install it, it would suck to wait all that time, install it, then find something you wanna change and have to uninstall it again anyway after waiting all that time. See? makes sense.. just DO IT

Couple of additional things you should do:

.041 - .048 oil restrictor for the turbo. ATP has them. You can also use a inverted flared nitrous jet of the same size. BHR should be a ble to hook up with those.
The 8 puts out too much pressure for the oil sealsin the greddy to handle. They usually fail around 10K miles.

Also wrap the Exhaust Headed or Coat it. Since I didn't see it listed being coated.

Get rid of the stock Cat for sure. Either a hi-flow or a straight pipe, since the Ap will remove the inefficent cat cel.

Also some sort of heat shielding for the passenger side foot well. It WILL get toasty and start to smell.

Have Fun!

Congrats!

Do you plan on tracking the car? You really should - an AT on the track with the paddle shifters is a lot of fun - add a turbo and the fun would at least double

If you do plan on tracking it, I'd strongly recommend getting a second oil cooler. After installing my oil temp gauge, I found that on track I was getting oil temps easily into the 240s. Either look for a used setup from a parts car, or talk to Paul at Mazmart for a new setup. He has a kit available that includes everything you need. But just be warned, a new oil cooler isn't cheap. Somewhere in the 700 dollar range. But if you can't find a quality used one or are just more comfortable going new, Paul's setup is the way to go. Mazmart is great to deal with.

I should also say that I did not have an upgraded radiator installed. I will be getting the BHR rad installed this winter. Not sure if that would have helped with the oil temps or not.

I do know that my oil temps dropped on track by 30 degrees with the second oil cooler.

If you don't plan on tracking the car, I'm guessing you won't need the second oil cooler.

i plan on getting the manifold and downpipe ceramic coated. i do have plans for more heat shielding just didn't list it. my exhaust has already been modded to better suit a turbo. RX7store resonated midpipe and HKS Hi-Power, so its 3" ll the way. i'll look for the oil restrictor if there's not one that came with it.

for the oil cooler i was just gonna find one, either new or used. not even necessarily from an 8. make some brackets and lines to make it work. it might not be necessary but it sure couldn't hurt.

i started looking for parts to do a GT3071R upgrade. looks like i can piece all the parts together myslef.

keeps the suggestions coming. its looking like i won't have the time or money to get the rest of the stuff i really need until at least January.

^^^^ I hear ya man it's been every bit of 6 mos and counting collecting parts for my setup...

also don't forget
Bur9EQP plugs for leading
Recirculation hose & fitting since you'll be using AP
Go ahead & upgrade them injectors I went w/RC only because of MM being so tied up, but MM has a much better deal.
Don't know if your kit came w/t bolts but definately worthwhile investing in them.

I would also suggest, not necessary though but very beneficial, an water/alky setup...LMK if you go this route...

the stock Greddy kit doesn't even have a BOV. the good news is now i can choose whichever one i want and put it where i want.

i found a MAF tube but its pretty pricey. $315 http://www.yourperformancesource.com...-Through..html

i could make a recirc fitting like this. https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=138

Well since you don't have a a BOV, I would suggest the Sychronic. Much more responsive than lets say a Greddy Type-RS or really anything else out there.

I know MM has coupler/T-bolt kit that he sells. I don't recall the cost.
Now did the used kit come with the stock Greddy couplers?
If so at least replace the post compressor side couplers. The 2 - 2 1/2 transition coupler from the turbo going into the intercooler has a tendancy to split.

Check with Racing Beat there 3.5" MAF housing can be bought separate and is $30-40 dollars or you can buy you a used MS or AEM intake..

not sure what you are talking about from racing beat. do you mean get a REV8 intake and modify it?

those couplers are all too small. it has to be a 45 degree reducer from 3.5".
