Drink beer, pull out hammer and resolve the problem.
high Level plan.
pull out the plug, chase the threads, clean out the shavings. rinse and repeat if necessary.
IF for what ever reason the above plan fails, pull motor, cert the plug hole. There is the possibility getting a wild hair and port and rebuild. That costs money i don't currently have to spend.
I really feel it will be nothing more than chasing the threads. Then cleaning up the mess

Does this thread look like the OP wants opinions on what transmission his car has?
It's a turbo build thread. Not a thread for some n00b's opinion on how he doesn't like automatics.

Valid question.
Why not? Auto's are not everyone's cup of tea and neither are Sticks. Plus I'd break the MT glass gear box anyway with my 1337 driving skilz
Thanks for getting my back guys.
I'm cool with it.. When the 8 first came out, alot of the purists poo-pooed the AT. No "sports cars should ever come with a slush box". Sticks are KING! Crap like that. It got old FAST ! Some of the passionate Rx-8 drivers really don't take to the sometimes ( perceived or not) AT/MT bashing question. Sometimes it gets heated. People have been banned, ect.
It really dosen't matter anymore MT/AT AT/MT Boost, NA, NAWWWWWWSSSS. A Rx-8 is a Rx-8 at the end of the day regardless who is driving it.

For one I'm pretty sure no one has blown one up yet
Manuals get blown everyday, in stock trim let alone with extra power.
How about giving the guy some props for having one of the sickest custom turbo setups on the forum?
What have you done to your car?

I am confident we will be able to fix the spark plug. If not, guess we will port an engine for Dave if he can pony up for a new housing/soft seals...
For those that are hating on the autos; here is another auto we just finished...

Hey 09, I saw the first few pics witht the Turbo might be placed... I was told it was bad to have a turbo by the hood because of the heat the turbo produces, will it not make the hood very hot in that area and could cause paint damage?
