sounds like the auto will finally come of age with this setup - well done to all concerned.

Is it the actual starter? It did sound pretty weird.

Dumb question : MM , do you think the uncapped injectors are actually flowing 880ccs ?

Just asking because of the issues I'm having with scaling them ...

I was having serious idle issues with my uncapped P1/P2/Secondaries, overall it ran like poop.
Then in go the Injector Dynamics 1000cc primaries and 2200cc P2/Secondaries and voila! An idle that purrrrrrs... (Mind you, my P1's & P2's fire together, so even with nearly twice the injector size my idle is 10x better)
These ID injectors really do handle very low ms VERY well. Questioning the output/scalability of the uncapped injectors is not dumb at all, especially when the time comes that you're way up there on the revs and on boost...

I believe so. I think i overheated it a few times when the 1st fuel pump died. Thinking that there was air in the fuel lines.
Ooops. the batt cranks the Acadia over with no problems.

Mine better be. That's what teh flow chart shows from KG. So if all he did was grind off the caps and clean them, i don't see why yours wouldn't.

Looks like I will be recommending stock p1s and ID2000s for the auto cars from now on. Probably the same for S2 cars? Might be doing one soon

There is a reference chart for rpm vs cranking pressure too. Even if it does crank slow we can still get the correct comp numbers..

At baro-neutral, yes.

Think about what happens when they are on an unregulated fuel rail and facing boost.

I'll take the discussion over to the thread I have on the subject over here

So since i'm out of availble fueling.........

Jeff I remember you writing somewhere that the max P1 inj size was 480 ? After that size the idle started to suffer. So now reading what Ritchie did with his (1k P1's and 2k S1's) this be a viable solution to my lack of fuel? Granted we really don't know until we try.

Thoughts?

Nick did a comp test, and @ 180rpms its 70psi across all faces( piston comp, throttle open).

That converts to about 90psi @ 250 cranking RPMS(s)

SideSeal Gap is probably HUGE...

probably so and they were probably used when they went in.
Well this reaffirms my assumption of the slow starter. And i'm 8.6 psi under the min compression
Oh well f- it. injectors will have to wait. Rebuild next.
Anyone have a in-expensive rebuild kit?

You could probably get away with a set of sideseals, and an o-ring kit if there is nothing else wrong. Looking at like $300 in parts.

Sell the boost controller, use a $30 spring for 15 psi

Low compression explains the slow spool, although it could use a .81 a/r...

Boost rise is just slow...

The response on this one is more in line with what one might expect of a large ish turbo . To me the real surprise is how good the low rpm response was on the other MT dyno .....

A good result for an auto nevertheless - best we have seen so far .

There is also a decent exhaust leak at the Vband connection between the two halves of the turbo manifold. On the Rx-7s this turbo spools a touch faster than the GT35R 1.06

It should be A LOT better..

Automatic with a turbo = MT without turbo.

I'd rather have the latter with a turbo, but generally not many people run with turbos in their car - less put the time and effort to put a turbo in their car themselves.

I know you wouldn't. My 250whp can easily take out your MegaUberHyperTurblown MT!
