The problem with that is when you bend the pipe, you bend the air as well and you wont see very smooth air in front of the MAF. This one is about 10" long and has screens in front and back to get as smooth air as possible.

Yeah I'm hoping the 6-7" before the actual maf element & screen will aid in turbulence reduction....we'll see....if not will have to incorporate some kind of mesh as I have absolutely no room for filter up there....

I like the position of your Greddy oil filter relocation kit, I may have to put mine there.

Nice...Will you be doing street and/or dyno tuning? I'm really interested in what numbers you will be pushing...I'll be getting my setup dyno'd here in the coming weeks..since your setup is as exact as mine will be interesting too see how close or off our numbers are...although you do have water/meth...

I know its a hell of a place to get a snapshot, but if you are able - request you get a shot at the OMP wiring/lines/etc.

SFR - do you know how much clearance is left with the up pipe?

Ray, do you have any more pics of your mount location? I want to try and do this over the weekend.

edit: I found some on tdiddy's turbo build thread. I dont have the mounting bracket but i do have a 90 degree bracket that I made. I think I may just use that. thoughts?

Their is roughly a 3" clearance down there from the masnifold to OMP. When removing my old engine noticed my omp was pretty roughed up from the heat and my mechanic had to actually resolder some of the wires. Since wanted2 had his car actually in the SFR shop I'm sure they adressed that particular issue accordingly. I now have heat wrap covering my OMP

On another note w/out their water pipe relocation there is absolutely no clearance at all with the up-pipe..(again another mistake I made the first time around)...damn near burnt a whole straight through the rubber hose

Damn man what happened?

Haha....been waiting to see how the tuning came along on this....as I ended up giving my shop a picture of your intake setup and replicated it, only difference is we went with a 3.5" 2 piece setup all the way to the turbo...

I was able to play with mine a lil before it went back in shop, but wasn't able to do anykind of tuning

I'm sure Wanted will get back on here with updates at some point but I'll throw in some details:

First of all, Tim and the whole crew at SFR are f-ing first-rate! They are really some of the nicest guys I've met in this biz and extremely smart.

The kit is epic. The install is epic.
The only issue that we had (other than a vacuum leak which we found using a tool that Tim invented that is simply elegant and amazing) was that the original design put the WBO2S too far away for proper closed-loop tuning.
They fixed that right on the spot.
I'm pretty sure that future iterations of the kit will include this fix.
Because so much time got eaten up in fixing this relatively small issue, we didn't get any serious dyno-tuning in. All we could do was "safe-up" the car and get it back to Phoenix.
We'll be addressing the power tuning this week or next.

Wow very interesting indeed, funny because my mech and a few others had actually suggested that I get my WBO2 positioned further upstream (on the Up-pipe)....Damnnn another thing to get fixed

Yeah - the OE WBO2S must be within 18" linear inches or so of the last exhaust port or the feedback loop will be too slow.
