Told you guys I was pulling the trans to clean it up and give it a paint job. Gives me more room to put a under body coat on too. And I get to clean and paint the PPF. Many good reasons to pull the trans. Even saw that the drive shaft bolts were fugly. Will be replacing those. Might even take the diff out to clean and paint.

Its not like this stuff is hard to pull. I did everything you see myself. There is one thing I learned and still use today "Be smarter then what your working on". This is just a big boy erector set. Just because you think I cant do it doesn't mean I cant.

Not mounting the motor to the stand until the rebuild. Then I will be mounting vertical in sections as it gets built. Its not like I'm the first that has ever done this or haven't **researched** on what to do.

You guys sound like I'm building a time machine. "Have fun mounting the flux capacitor", but then not say why. hahaha lol.

The amount if work needed to pull the tranns, not to mention ensuring the PPF is installed and "aligned" properly is not work a fresh paint job IMO.

Yes, since you just asked PPF alignment is important.

You popped a hole in the pan? You didn't drain the engine oil before hand? Nice

lol

No, didnt drain the trans. When I angled the motor and trans I put a pan under the trans to drain it from the input shaft.

Thought it was far enough away to continue to pull it out. It wasn't, trans hit the corner and oil everywhere.

Kinda happy I did it. Made me clean the floor with cat litter and then soap and water. Now I have a nice new looking floor to work on.

On a side note, I'm waiting to get a socket for the flywheel. What size is that thing? Looks like a 2" socket.

I didn't explain to much with the pictures and what I found.

Found a very lose spring in the clutch disc. You can spine it by hand. The throw out bearing is bad, you can hear the bearings inside grinding.

Broke 2 lower ac pump bolts. Both snapped and are sticking 1/4 inch out the housing. At least it gave me something to work with. Should be easy to get out.

All but 3 exhaust bolts striped. I had a bolt extractor and that worked perfect.

One of my front and rear trialling arm links are gone. So old they fell apart.

Other then that everything looks good.

What do you guys think about taking the AC out? Mine still works...

I have been very busy.

I got the crank pulley bolt off. Took a inch drive impact to do so.

Now I'm just debating to buy the flywheel socket or find one to use.

Took the engine to my buddy's shop, he rebuilds semi trailers. He didn't even have the right socket.

As soon as I get this socket, many more pics and progress will be done...
