oh and btw that dash bar that is left there in the pic is useless
it's really only there for mounting points and dash support but the bar itself is not even connected to the chssis; only bolted on with two flimsy brackets
doesnt have any structural use at all
needless to say it will be upgraded when the rest of the cage goes in
speaking of which there is A LOT of design planning and consulting with the pros on this cage
it will truly be one of a kind
I won't spoil any details but, we are going with NASCAR style door cage on the drivers side and X-bar on the passengers

looking good Levi, I cant wait to see how the seats go in. Are you going to be using sliders or side mounts on the seats. Ive heard some using sliders actually sit a tad higher than the stock seats which I wouldnt want. I guess side mounts would allow the seat to be lower? i dont know.

Unless there will be multiple drivers (of different sizes) driving the car there is no point in having sliders. They just add weight and another thing which could fail in the case of a crash. Fixed mounts can be set low in the chassis reducing the center of gravity, and reduce weight. Once you have the seat dialed in you won't want it to move.

What kind of seat(s) will you be adding to the car?

Marcos - many people say the X-bars are just as safe if not safer but, some orgs are requiring NASCAR style on the drivers side now
X-bar is less piping, lighter, easier to get in and out of, and less gutting of the doors
they will be done the right way not the cheap crappy way

+1 on no sliders. I still like the nascar bars. Saved me a couple of times. The xbars didnt feel solid and hit my elbows as a driver and when having passengers.

Levi, what all was still attached to the ecu when you started it? Have you been able to tell if it might be in limp mode?

Car is looking good. I can' wait to see the finished product.

thanks Tommy
anti-theft, ABS, and wheel sensors were still connected but, I know the ABS plays off of the DSC in some ways and it was not connected so I cannot say if the ABS is working properly
it was not in limp mode
I only hope the DCS and ABS will function correctly without the cluster but, if need be I'll just reconnect it and hide it all under the dash

I hope so
I have used the Pro 2000 seats before but, never the EVOs
they feel about the same from what I can tell except less cushiony (sp?) lol
I couldn't turn down the price though
thanks Marcos!

anyone here have any experience with fuel cells for this car?
does it work just like a fuel cell for any other car? tank/vent/outlet/return/pump
how would I go about swapping the stock setup sensors since there are two of them (one for each side of the tank) or are they normally not used?
how about fuel pressure regulation?

I would talk with Schartz. I know he has a fuel cell in his car.

Slvr,

Is this OD's old car? Do you know did he have two check valves going to the solenoid reservoir behind the UIM?
