I peak at 14psi... but I don't think I'm at 400whp levels like you.

Well like I was saying before I don't take Virtual Dyno as being accurate, just something to show relative increase or decrease. I've not had it on a real dyno yet. Did you?

Also what turbo are you running, what coils are you running, how long have you been running at 14psi and what are you using for engine management? If you don't mind

No I haven't got it dynoed... but my builder (who is well versed) says it 'feels' over 300whp.

I'm not quite sure what you are experimenting with here.... upping boost ?

BNR upgraded turbo, BHR coils (had to gap stock plugs closer to .30"), Rotary Aviation seals, ported & polished, and it only peaks to 14psi when I'm really getting on it. Cobb tuned by Kane

I'm on about 2,000 miles now on the new build--- I'm satisfied with what I have now, I'm just curious about what you are doing

We are experimenting with loads over 200% and the Cobb and I am experimenting with how high I want to push it

Curious with your BHR's before you gapped to .030 where were they gapped and were you misfiring? I am trying it sort my misfiring out. I think I last gapped at .032.

Interesting side effect of welding my clutch pedal. It shifts soooo much better! And it doesn’t squeal as much. Not sure if that will come back, but if it doesn’t I may just leave the 6 puck. I might need it with the progress we are making 

At first I had the Burque9 plugs in there and it was misfiring at around 5.5k. Put the stock plugs and it would misfire around 6.5k. Gapped the plugs to .30" and all the misfiring went away (contrary to what most would have thought).

I would be curious to know if your misfires really went away completely. A lot of times you can't feel them and they don't trip a CEL but then when you hook it up to the WDS or another advanced scanner you will see just how many misfires events there really are.

wcs, try running stock trailing in both the L and T position. That is what my Tuner had me do and it is running great, no misfire events. I change them pretty often just for good measure.

Ok will do!
I just so happen to have 4 trailing plugs sitting on the bench!
Sweet.

Thanks

I am running the bur9eqp. I will try all stock trailing as well.

yup definitely try the stock plugs gapped if you're getting misfires, it was my last hope after trying to solve the misfiring for months.

I'm pretty sure the misfiring is gone.... however, the only time I've seen the flashing CEL since is when traveling at super sonic speeds---I'm talking 8krpm+ in 6th gear.

Blame it on the Autobahn and those damn V8 M3's

I just did a little air compressor to MAF expirment.

The access port maxes out at 5 Volts.

That MAF extender looks intresting, but at 200 bucks is a little high. I wonder if someone decent with electronics could make a voltage divider.

I don't know if that could be done with a simple resistor of some sort.

YES! Just can't go fast right now until I get the fueling sorted out. Unfortunately, I am leaving for Seattle and won't be back until next weekend But when I get back I plan on installing the stock yellows in the P1 position. So let's figure something out for the week after next, sound good?

Ok - that makes 5 separate people that I know of having the same issue with the BHR coils in the last few weeks. Rotary redliner,Slash,WCS and two others I'm dealing with.
Pretty sure most of them are running same dwell map as me so don't think that comes into it.
I'm wondering about grounding location . I have very short ground wires running to where the stock coil bracket mounts . Then a heavy guage wire to the Battery .
I have run the BUR9EQPs without any issues for almost 100,000 turbo kms.
The only time I have an issue is when the plugs are totally worn out - which only takes 7000kms. But since i put in the D585s I haven't had that same misfire I used to get on worn plugs.

My BHR kit is a few years old (did get the updated wires last year) and I have not had any misfire issues really except for like you said once the plugs are worn. Sifu did on the dyno while we were tuning but a plug swap to stock trailings fixed that too. On the stock trailings I have had zero issues. Steves thoughts on the BUR9's is a safety issue in that it would be easy to overtighten them and damage the housings.

If you substitute the positive resistor for a potentiometer then you would have the same thing as the MAF extender you posted. for about 10 dollars worth of parts from Radio Shack.

I don't know it might have to do with my experiment. I had the engine off and pulled the MAF. Then blew air directly into the MAF.

It showed 0.7 to 1 Volt with no compressed air and it flat lined at 5 volts with the air.

Intrestingly it logged 0 g/sec
