Same Dyno stock RX8 = 141 WHP....
So it all depends on the "scale" you want to go with....
In one hand I got 200% more power than a stock RX8 on the same Dyno; on the other I went from 190 to 280 with BC and tuning.... all depends on how you look at it I guess.

Aright so, if all my in cabin fuses are still good, what could cause a no power situation on the cigarette lighter circuit plus radio, that also explains no cranking? Gonna check all the fuses in the main fusebox next I suppose.
Edit: Aright, 30 amp ACC fuse was blown in the main box. Will replace that when I can. Could someone explain why that fuse would prevent cranking though? Seems strange.
Edit2: Replacing the 30 amp fuse let the electronics come back live, the the act of turning the key farther to start the engine blew the fuse again. I suspect that an old injury to my engine harness has come back to bite me. Must be some kinda bridge between the ACC circuit and the ignition circuit. Think I might let service deal with it.

So today i had 4 new sparkplugs put it and checked the coils to see if any was bad. The coils all passed however i still have this weird *** problem. The turbo spools, i go into boost then i hear some loud fast clunking noise coming from the wastegate area and the car hits a wall. I bought a new boost gauge since the one i had was crap but i gotta wait for the new one to get here. The boost i read was from the profec 2 which was 72 kpa which i believe is around 10-11psi.
Im pretty stumped about what this damn issue is.

Can you vacuum test it?
how did you go about fixing yours in the first place?
I rebuild regulators daily... best thing is to just take it apart replace the seals and verify an air tight condition... teflon tape works for the fittings.
you guys know the thread size for the oil pan bolt? need a adapter for the -10 oil return line on the esmeril kit...
Also i might be back in the future but not with a renesis. But a 13b re with a gt35 swap.

yep, i think it will take too much time and money to get power levels i want. i believe if i go with a 13bre i will have more power now and future with out risking the engine as much as the renesis. also a much better tunning emu than the int x.. i will keep u guys updated through my build. i think i got the engine i want, just need to ship it home.
sorry i meant the oil drain plug. 14x 1.5mm
Thanks though
And you claimed you were gonna keep it. lol told you so.

Best of luck... but I don't really understand this. The 13bre is at least as sensitive to detonation as the Renesis. Those motors seem to need rebuilds nearly constantly even at stock power levels. For the horsepower target you are targetting (~350) there isn't any benefit that I can see for doing a 13bre engine swap. If you are going to swap an engine the only one worth doing is a 20b. Why are you convinced you cannot hit 350 whp safely with the Renesis?

And never said the renesis couldn't get it. Just have you seen any 350whp rens out there yet? I haven't. Also i can get a 20b next month easily. That was my plan, but i will hold on that swap for a while. I shall drop that in an FD.
Dude i don't know where your getting this information. But i have seen many 13b's with well over 400 that are DDs and get abused weekly. And they don't need rebuilding as much as you say. If you go look around the rx7club you will see the same thing.

IMO you shouldn't look at swapping the Renesis out for another 13B until you want more than 400-rwhp with some degree of reliability. The Renny can do it but it hasn't been proven to really last yet.
How many 400-rwhp FDs are out there on a stock keg, no porting, factory seals?
yes i totally agree with you, people should be able to learn to drive their cars before they upgrade the power.. i have enough confidence to drive a 400whp 3k lb car with out having much problems. i have driven cars with more hp and even cars that weigh less and have same power level.. but again my hp goals are for use on tracks. dont want to risk my self or some one elses on the streets cause i was showing off.
now other question, i only wanted 350 out of the renesis. but if i upgrade now i have way more possibilities for higher power. though i will stay with renesis through this season on track..
oh btw go check out rx7club single turbo section i think.. you will find the record breaking fd with 700+hp on e85, stock block. you will find some high hp stock blocks. but like you said, reliability is unstable.. i do wish the renesis will reach this power level some day.

I don't know, a good number of people I've talked to with 400+ whp with the 13bre are doing rebuilds pretty damn frequently (including guys from the 7 forums) or swapping to LSx motors in their 7s. Methanol injection helps the reliability a lot but thats true for the Renesis too. If you were shooting for a 500 hp+ build then yes, it doesn't make sense to use a 10:1 compression motor... but you are going to dump a shitload of money on the engine swap, so take the extra time and get a 3-rotor engine.
Its all numbers guys.....IMO that's not important. Sure it's fun to see where you are at...but how fun and fast the car is to you is what matters. Even for a track car, 300rwhp is probably more than enough to be competitive and to have a blast. (Don't believe me? Drive one!
)I am running the dreaded GReddy kit. Yes I did get a turbo upgrade. It's not as bad *** as the GT3071R but it sure puts a smile on my face every time I mash the throttle.
Oh and reliability isn't an issue. The Cobb Accessport rules! If there was a way to make the Esmeril kit work with the AP, along with upgraded hardware....that kit would be great. I guess I will just stick with my crappy GReddy kit.
p.s. I love boost <---take that NA loserz!
