So Steve Kan will be tuning my car this summer. There is a tuning day with him in STL coming up, rates seem reasonable.

More info for you MW kids.

I was just looking at one the other day - (I THINK) it was like 20 at idle warmed up and went to 60 or so at load.

Our torque curve is even flatter, but it tops out at 214ish.

Take your car to a drag strip and video tape it. I can edit the clips into one so that they are side by side and post it on youtube. Internet drag racing

Most drag race folks seem to think that HP wins races, and I tend to agree (and I didn't have to see Juan beat a Corvette in a drag race to believe it).

Idle 16, Load 70ish - with a small oil leak on the turbo return line - per Nester.

HP does win drag races - but not necessarily peak . More the average area under the hp curve in the rev range you are operating .
BTW I actually believe it would be very close (so not really a pwning) once you take the first 60' varialbles out of the equation.

Interesting idea on the internet drag. Didn't mysql have some fancy software that predicted acceleration through the gears based on dyno results ?

Yeah, it would definitely be close. I was pulling low 1.9 60' times with the 8-9psi pulley launching at 5500rpms. I haven't drag raced the car since the new pulley, but I'm guessing I'll be in the 1.8s.

Dyno sheet racing is for pussies, let's do something for total nerds: Intercontinental Youtube Drag Racing!

We should definitely do it.

As long as the videos follow the car, and the videos include the light trees @ start and the finish lines (with times), it would work. It would be two videos encoded into one to play side by side, and synchronized to the green light. I'm pretty sure I can do that with Nero 7 Ultra, although I haven't tried.

Also, what should we see in terms of Oil Temps? What's the upper limit of what is acceptable? When do you go, "Oh **** my car's cookin!"

Oil temp above 240F is no good.... oil temp and coolant temp should be closely related.

what exactly does it mean to have a low oil pressure at idle after engine is already warm?

does the type of oil being used affect the idle readings that much?

I can't see how type matters - unless it is vegitable oil or something.... LOL

You may have an oil leak and just not know cause it burns off the turbo...

Either that or you have a pressure leak somewhere in the oil system.... or the pump is dying...

I have another idea . How about some dudelogger logs showing 0-100mph ?
Other than tyre size there other variables would be the same as a drag strip ...
