Though i will get a better turbo this summer.

Do you guys know if you can blow out spark plugs cause of flooding issues?? cause i think that's what happen to mine. I had upgraded plugs too.
I think the issue here is not whether you are running the car at a consistent high RPM and more the max HP target is well south of the efficiency of the turbo. You can get a turbo that is properly sized for the engine which will both handle a peak efficiency at high RPM and spool fully by 4k. If the turbo is enormous and designed to hit 500-600 hp and you are trying to get 300 out of it, its going to take a long time to get the thing spun up.

Do you happen to know the efficiency of the turbo esmeril uses? I sure don't nor do i know what its capable off.. Now all i meant was that i rather have a turbo that might take a while to spool at the low end, but will give me enough to push my car to the set limit i have. Unlike having a small turbo that will barely reach the efficiency of whats needed or overwork it. Either way the turbo i got is ****. Will get a GT35 later on.

I had that problem with stalling. Specifically for me, it only manifested after I reached full operating temperature, so I tweaked the water temp map a lil, idle became richer and calmed down. I just did this a few days ago, so hopefully it lasts and the stalling is gone for good.

What plugs are you guys using? and whats recommended?? I noticed there was some drama on one of the threads, and didn't really find my answer.
Thanks

still using the BUR9EQPs all round . Have 10000kms on them with no issue . I think it is a little harder to start with these but not by much .

Yeah that is the way to fix it - I just was worked up cause the idle AFR was mocking me!!! LOL - I could only get it to 12.9 or so at idle to keep it running no matter what we threw at it - and it affected my delicate sensitivities.

I was wondering how much induction noise everyone is getting? when I get into boost there is a loud whooshing sound from pipe work.

it's not that it is unpleasant but it wouldn't be acceptable in a factory car. anyone tried to get rid of it?

is it my air box? I don't have one but the noise a filter make NA is a distinctive moo which I don't have. I have a whoosh that sounds like it is in the UIM.

Conical filters have this issue (unless teh whooh is air leak in the UIM.

Even my factory MS6 has serious intake whine when I took the airbox out and changed the intake... best way to fix is move the filter as far away from the compressor as possible.

It is - but it resonates into the Air Filter; mine is a good 3 feet from the turbo and I can barely hear it. My wifes is about 1.5 feet and it is damn loud.

Unfortunately I don't... in fact nobody does besides Esmiril. What I do know at least anecdotaly is the turbo is designed for much higher hp targets than most who are running the kit. Now Esmiril has been running that 414 hp car which is probably a lot closer to the range the turbo is designed for. Obviously there is a middle ground between the stock GReddy TD06 which can't flow enough air for high rpm operation and the Esmeril turbo which seems to have problems spooling. The turbo efficiency thread lists some of the turbos which would be a much better fit. The GT35 is pretty awesome according to the flow maps anyway. I would really like to see the Esmeril kit running with an upgraded turbo as most seem to agree that is really the weak point in the kit.

For me, I'm sticking with my low-mount GReddy manifold and the 3071R. It will have no problem hitting my hp target and should spool quickly enough for my purposes. Then again, as you said, dedicated track use and street use are two totally different beasts.

it doesn't quite work when they are hitting and passing 300hp and haven't gone through an engine in the process.

Just take the total HP produced and divide by number of failed motors (due to FI)..... apples to apples then... LOL

Yeah its a big turbo that doesn't sit right on renesis unless we bump to high boost. But its still not so safe to do it... Now im gonna use my turbo to its potential here soon. There is a Rx7 dyno/tune day in STL coming up so ill probably be there. Will see how high i can bump the boost.

And yeah i cant wait till i get my GT35, probably here in may or june.

yeah I reckon that would work because dividing by one would have no effect on the sc'ed side!
