Question... Why not a oil filter relocation while at it?

Haha, I took off the oil filter from the old motor to give room for when I yanked it out of the bay. The new motor just has a filter covering the holes so no debris goes in.

No plans to do a oil filter relocation because it is already very easy to remove with my Upper Intake Manifold. I do not want to add more lines, whether hose or braided, as my goal is to get rid of much of that as possible.

Yup! That extra airflow would give me monster horsepower if I could dyno in my garage!

The block is painted. I did not have the patience to polish it this time, but if the paint does not hold up well I will consider polishing the other engine when I tear it apart.

Some work I did yesterday.
Take a close look... yea, went a little overboard. lol

it's going to be a shame to install that motor as it'll only get dirty.
That's gotta be the sexiest RX-8 motor I've ever seen.

Indeed. Just make sure to get many pictures of it so you remember how clean it "was" before you actually stared driving it.

yep sadly enough---that is really a very good looking engine dude.
i polished the entire LIM and the vacuum stuff too--just like that. It does tarnish after a while.
I wish there was some rype of inexpensive coating you good put on it to help make it last.
Sweet.

Danny, either you have an affinity to shiny stuff or get bored and take the boredom out on your 8. Very nice!

There are several powered clear coats that will handle this environment.

Haha, Thanks Dave. It really is a 'that does not look good, so lets make it shiny' ordeal.

Definitely a matter of time.

Hopefully that time won't be for a few months. I'd like to see how things hold up instead of messing it up myself. haha
