The NgoRX8 Build
Kicking off the new year with my own build thread finally.
For those who do not know, my engine gave in the week after sevenstock. Doing a 4th gear WOT run, I peaked at 15 psi and possibly held it for a while till 6000 rpm. I monitored my AFRs visually (which appeared fine) during the run but not the BC. Probably did not help that my tune/scaling was drastically off at the time (logging 500 g/s).
Lessons Learned: Always set a Boost Warning/Drop Feature with the BC. Tune, Tune, Tune. Always run W/M at high boost.
Blew the Front Rotor. Compression in Rotor 1 showed 40-60 psi through all 3 chambers. Car was still drivable, continued to boost 10+ psi just fine. The only symptoms that were shown were at idle: slightly rough, exhaust note sounded off, vacuum reading between 12-14 inHg when warm. Car continued to crank and start up normal most of the time. I continued to drive it up till Dec 31, where it finally hit 50,000 Miles.
Thus, the tear down begins...

Here is a pic of the resting area

Engine bay before overhaul

And a Teaser of what is going in...

The plan is to be all set and back in action for the SoCal Dyno Day 2011 on Feb 26.

haha, Thanks guys! I guess I better not disappoint.
The tear down has already begun as off yesterday.
Starting with the piping

And as of this morning, we are here...

And here...

I also did not have a place for the hood,.. so I decided to hang it next to the engine. lol

no time to waste with the dyno day less than 2 months away! haha
Hope so. I definitely want to put a good amount of miles on it before then. If I have to, I'll do back and forth trips to gregs' place and Jedi's place.
