I don't understand why in the hell you'd want to regear it? Why build up all that hp just to kill it by regearing it? That's essentially what you're doing! Just get some Falken Azeni 615's and you'll be fine.

I'd install a 4:10 rear end with any forced induction kit. That car is already worthless with a 4.44 rear end as is.

How much would that cost?

Probably about $600 for parts only. Call Paul over Mazmart. He sells them.

Thanks. The car redlines so fast now with only 170ish to the wheels, I can't imagine what 300 would feel like...Anybody care to comment on how usable the stock 1st gear is with FI?

Its not the duration in the gear that is the problem. 1st gear would be fine if you could sove the wheel hop. My 60ft times at the track are about 2.5 seconds. Its aweful. An 06 STi has about a 1.5 second 60ft with that all wheel drive. BUT - I always catch and beat them by the end of the 1/4 mile!! I also recently stuck it to the new BMW M6 which has a 400HP and 500HP mode (driver selectable from the computer). But it was from 35MPH. There's no way I could touch one from a dig.

Since I switched over to Nitto 555's I haven't had any significant traction problems. Granted its warm now, once winter hits I expect some traction issues until the tires are heated up. But, we all now how to expedite that process!

Have you thought about going to coilovers and sway bars to keep the power down in the rear? Or do you now have these, I recall asking you before and you didn't at the time.

I have pretty much so resolved the rear wheel hop issue with RB rear sways and Tein Flex Coilovers. No turbo yet... still waiting for the Mazsport kit.

Yeah, I've got the Flex coilovers and Whiteline sways - also the 9.5" RPF1 wheels with KumhoMX tires. The rear stays firmly planted now. But like you, I also don't have FI yet.

With no FI, and wider wheels that *** will stay firmly most of the time anyways.
No need for addl upgrades. Just don't drop your clutch from high PRM, and you'll be fine. Sliding the clutch in quickly while simultaneously increasing the the RPM as the clutch traction rises does wonders. Try it.

Well, you and I are looking for two different purposes, I'd say. I'm not really at all concerned with drag racing. I've never even dumped the clutch. I'm concerned with controlling the rear with the extra power of FI on road courses.

The update would be that the turbo should be hitting the market at the end of this month. It will be debuting at our Sevenstock booth along with some other goodies.....

I realize you are putting down alot more power, but wheel hop is easily avoidable. Especially at the track. I have run 2.1 60 ft times on a bone stock 8. Feather the clutch a little more and take it easy for the first 10-15 feet.

Obviously, this is the kick-*** RX-8 Turbo kit, for guys going that way. Got some questions:

1. Will there be a RX-8 Auto kit for 4 ports?

2. Will there be overseas shipping?

3. Any price ranges yet?

4. Any 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs? That kind of power to the wheels should be kicking butt for an RX-8.

Too bad about CARB cert though... would be nice too.

SCOTT!? hows it going over there? what are we looking.
we badger you so much. constantly asking for daily updates.
Scotts at his dest reading post and hes thinking these stupid 8 freaks... were doing just as good as yesterday why do i need to give daily updates?
But look at it this way... so much interest and want for updates means you have customers out the door.

This turbo will be ready for sale shortly with dyno charts and will be featured at the Sevenstock event. Keep your eyes on the Mazsport.net site for pricing, facts, and details in the near future....

We can ship overseas.....
