Yes. He changes their opening points depending on the setup. It may or may not be drastic.

Scott, you know that I support you and all of your efforts. I think it might be for the best if in the future you just don't post any results of any kind anymore out in the general forum. There are too many people who will cry bs since they don't understand (emphasis on the word "they") how you got the results you did. For this reason I am moving it to the Mazsport forum.

Hopefully you detect the sarcasm in this post. You can post in the other forum sections if you want to. I just figured that you'd get less hassle here.

I ordered the interceptor x for my current n/a setup and I asked scott about the turbo. He told me he's hoping for the kit to be ready by this fall and the turbo will cost around $7,000 (with interceptor x). for those who already have the interceptor x, about $5,500 and just send scott ur interceptor x and he'll tune it for his turbo set up and your current modds for a great price. He did not say what turbo he was using but sounded like he was making great progress.

I hope no big changes were made recently scott... cuz then that would make what i just said all wrong lol.

Scott's a great guy. He took the time to call me back, then explain everything I needed to know about the interceptor x and any questions i had. Im really looking forward to this kit

Scott is still the process of moving to his new location which has delayed his finishing the project. I expect that it will be a few months before he has it done given what he said this weekend.

Scott is a prefectionist, and wants to make sure he has the kit dead on (and since the potential for issues is higher with a FI), it will be worth it I'm sure. He doesn't want the kits or the engines coming back to him (and neither do we).

i'm suspecting he is using a gt35r. I think I read a slip up somewhere, where RX8PR mentioned thats who he sold the turbine to.

Am I mistaken when I say that isn't a T4 a style of a GT35R turbo? I thought that was the case, Hell I don't know anymore?

T3, T4 and GT are all seperate families of turbos. The GT line is Honewell's/Garrett's newest line.

You can also get a GT series type turbo with a T3 or T4 flange

That is not the installed price. But, it is right in line with PTP and SFR.

Scott worked on the RX8PR kit. I spoke with him about his experience (he NEVER tipped his hand) but suspect he may be using a slightly smaller turbo.

I bought the new fuel pump that Scott had to develop for the his turbo kit and it finally allows my GReddy set-up to run well -- the stock fuel pump just couldn't handle it for some reason even though others haven't complained much.

Scott's works great and finally the car runs perfect (with my InterceptorX of course) -- almost as smooth stock -- except I put down 299 whp at the dyno last week I think the new fuel pump helped a lot -- I am sure the rest of Scott's set-up will be excellent as well -- that will likely be my project for next winter

i think the peak sustainable flow on the OEM pump is alright, but i don't think it's very consistent outside of it's OEM range. I've felt a few hesitations at a certain rpm in a certain, and been unable to ever reproduce them..even immediately after

of course that could be because of my slipping clutch, but who knows

yeah -- theoretically the OEM pump should be OK -- what mine was doing was "slowing down" after 30 to 45 minutes of driving -- like it would be fine and then not be able to keep up the needed flow. I decided to go with Scott's upgraded pump unit and it really helped my tuning -- not to mention gave me a lot of extra capacity if I choose to use it

$7000 for this kit. I really dont see any justification for paying around 1/5 of the total cost of the car for a technology that hasnt changed and ultimately the fundamentals are the same from car to car...

Creating your own setup seems to be more ideal.

$7k is what the SFR kit and PTP kit are going for, and to my recollection they aren't even putting down as much hp.

As far as putting together your own kit, even if you have the fabrication skill, the engine management know-how, and can tune, don't expect to just throw together some stuff and put down 400whp. Its not going to happen. I know for a fact that even these companies who are experts at turbocharging rotaries still go through several iterations and tweaks with their kits to get that kind of performance. R&D gets expensive, I suspect you'd spend more than $7k to do it yourself after you've tried 3 or 4 turbos, manifolds and ems solutions.
