If your buying this for HP gains NA...your barking up the wrong tree....

It provides a small improvement...but that's not what it was designed for

i agree with charles... i think that its a great thing that they have done and a giant step forward. the only reason i was so concerned about it is that i am going nitrous which means most of the time my car will be drivin without a power adder. Thus i was currious on what the effects were when not on the bottle. Eitherway i do not see how it would be a bad investment for anyone with an 8. sooner or later you will replace your coils anyway so why not upgrade to a top notch product.

So it in fact has not been posted, dear god it has taken me 5 posts to get a simple question answered.

I just want the following before I fork over $600 in cash.

Pictures of the product, Dyno Sheet and specifics on the car that was tested (other modifications, ect...), that is it.

They have the Dyno sheets, they know what car it was tested on and they should have pictures since it is already in a couple of cars.

I understand that.

Just looking for validation of product, all the information should be easily available.

I am also sure that those with power-adders will soon be doing A/B dyno pulls, too.
No problem. I was just thinking that when I get mine and install it I would do a side by side of my own as an additional data point. My coils only have about 1500 miles on them with my new motor, plugs, wires so I figured that would be about as good a comparo of what fresh stock coils can do vs. the upgrade.

It didn't take long for the naysayers to start pooping in this thread did it?

Phish, although factory coils are generally sufficient with nitrous to upgrade your ignition system to the best available options is preferred.
I'm saying I would like more details about a product before I just blindly hand over cash.

real quick comment on dd's behalf ... some of you guys keep commenting on how good scott is and his company. with all due respect, i don't know him from adam. the fact that you guys know him and trust him is great, and it does make me more inclined to trust him and/or his product, but all i know from this thread is some guy named "scott" made something that he SAYS gained 11 hp but his dyno chart doesn't SHOW that he did ... this day in age i'd rather see it that just take his word simply because i don't know him, that's all ... not trying to hate, but just think of when you buy other things online from people you don't know or a company you've never ordered from -- i know i'm a lot more hesitant when there are no pictures of the product or the claims are different then the chart showing.

just my perspective ... thanks for all the comments and clarifications though.

^^Feel free to do a little research.

Mazsport has a whole forum vendor section in this forum for his shop with all of his products and customers. PM some of them and read some of their product threads. No one's asking you to sign up with someone on faith. Just do a little research on what's readily available on this website and decide for yourself.

Look at the graph he posted....it's 10-15HP over some of the range......

7.5-8K.......20ish?

If your just looking for a Peak HP increase...you need to learn how to interpret a dyno plot

Actually the original post never marketed it as a HP increase... it was marketed as a soulution to the ignition problem to let the turbo increase the HP the car can put down instead of being limited to spark. it just got twisted into us talking about it adding horse on an N/A car

Thanks Scott, could you send us a couple of pics so we know what it looks like and where it was relocated to?

On a side note if it is permited who's car was used? Just wondering what kinda setup they were running in addition to this.

I know Scott, he is a good guy and he knows his RX's. I'm just more interested in the details of the product. I just might ask nopistons to pop his hood for me at the next meet.

i didn't mean to upset anyone, i was just trying to give an outsider's perspective on how shady SOME sellers are on the internet.

shaunv74 -- i was just browsing this thread, i'm not in the market for this now -- but i always research products myself before i buy them, for a car or anything else, but keep in mind that is why this forum is here, so others can help answers questions more readily.

anyway, sounds like a great product, i look forward to getting it when i'm done milking my warranty!!

i know someone posted this somewhere else. but would attaching a heatsink (like the ones used for graphics cards) onto the mounting bracket and using a thermal paste in between the two, make for even better cooling?

or it would it just be inconsequential?

Mostly inconsequential.
The bottom of the coil is resin, which is not particularly thermally conductive.
Moving the coils out of the wash from the rad fans would be more effective, though the thermal load is mostly and electrical issue, not an ambient heat issue.
