That probably explains the common wandering idle problem seen with the Int-X. If the SSV is changed to say, 1200, idle at 800rpm should be ideal and nobody has noticeable boost before 1200 so it will not affect tunning. This great news for me . The APV remains under control of the PCM right or is it controlled by this same output? How come Dannobre says his APV stays open all the time? Thanks for the input.

I haven't played with it both ways..I wish that there was a solution for controlling it in something other than the Motec ($$$)
I would think that it would be advantageous to keep it closed until boost,,,and then open...but the stock PCM seems to alter when it opens as it sees fit....not necessarily a good thing for tuning.
With it open...and the spooling characteristics of the turbo...seems to be OK as it is
I can't wait till the Ign solution is here...I want to see what that does to the drivability...mine was much happier around the 325HP range than above on the OEM coils...

I noticed this stuff when reading through the Int-X manual. It says in big bold print "not to adjust these settings or serious engine damage could occur!" I wonder what engine damage could occur by opening the valves slightly later?
When I was talking with Ray on the phone the other day, he noticed is engine was stumbling around at idle, and quickly got the CEL for his SSV valves not functioning. Turned out they were stuck open, which caused his idle to go a little crazy. So that gave me the idea of delaying the opening of the SSV valves until you out of idle, around 1200-1500 rpm, because you aren't making any power there anyways, so why no delay it? It should smooth out idle.
I wish I had my Int-X installed right now so I could test it out....
