I was hoping it was that after the first pull. But my guage was showing the same lean condition

And my engine is a champ! No knocks or detonation, still runs like a champ after a year of cruel experimentation :P

could there be anything with airflow, while your driving on the freeway you get lots of airflow, the dyno is just sitting still...

As far as the amount of air going into the engine I wouldnt think so. My intake is about as unrestrictive as you can get. And given the distance the Maf is from the filter, I dont think there would be a turbulence difference.

I was thinking maybe intake temps, but I have those tables flattened.

is there a load difference between the road and the Dyno? the DYNO more resistant?

That is my guess. I would assume the dyno uses some set resistance that is middle of the road for what an average car would weigh. So perhaps it is pushing my tune farther into load much earlier than I can hit on the street. OR perhaps it is not putting enough load on my car and thus it is staying in lower load(and much leaner) end of my maps.
Either way would make it cross completely different cells on my tune not to mention point out anything I've done wrong in the scaling of my MAF/injectors. Would love some insight from our pro tuners

I would lean more towards it showing a flaw in my scales thoguh. As my commanded fuel is pretty flat across various loads for a certain RPM. Typically at 12psi on the street I'm seeing 160-170s for load. Variation from that in either direction has pretty much the same setting for a set RPM. I"m kicking myself for not taking logs while it was on the dyno.......

I think it is partly due to the MAF pickup and IAT being pre-turbo and intercooler, so the load cells are a bit different than they are on the street since the airflow over the intercooler is different. But that is just a guess I'll have to test it out when I get home.

What is weird is most cars go rich on the Dyno - then lean out on the street a bit....guess it never hurts to start over once you have more knowledge. I plan to do the same when I get home. Then I can use the temp changes from March to June to look at my IAT compensations better.

I'm going to load up my simplified base tune and do some logs after work tonight.

I'm starting to think that I had my injector scales fubared. I had changed all of them to avoid skewing my maf scale. I think this time I'm going to put the stock injectors near stock settings and scale only the big injectors to get as close as possible. Then get the rest done with MAF.

We shall see how that goes

Cobbs Accesstuner Race. You can download it from cobb if you own an accessport. I've also used Kane's Baseline program to help me spot trends in my AFR deviation to scale my injectors and MAF

After spending the last couple of days staring at my tune I believe the error was in my injector scales. I had lowered the settings(to increase output) for the primry and secondary injectors a fair amount and not lowered the P2s enough. I believe this was resulting in my car not getting enough fuel as the Primaries handed off the duties to the P2s.

I have decided to cheat and take the easy way out. I have paid for MMs tuning service. Hopefully I have a properly tuned car sitting on the dyno again in a few months

I'll continue to play with my own tune while waiting through MMs que, but now the pressure is off for me to get it nailed down. I always felt that when I was stretching for more power I was taking risks by going into the unknown with my tune. At least I know I am capable of making my car daily drivable

Just when you were looking like getting it nailed . You can count on one hand the number of people doing their own tuning around here - what a shame

Its been running for a year...its time to get some results from from my car

I'm still going to keep learning to tune it. I paid MM on Saturday, Sunday I was still making adjustments to my tune :P

Wow just read all 13 pages, what an awesome build, I've really wanted to make my own turbo setup but I can't really afford to foul up my DD or have it down for too long... haha this makes me wan't an second car to play with and use some of my piles of parts on.

So, any updates post-MM tune?

I'm watching your build as well as WantedTwo's SFR build. Curious to see what comes of them once they're fully tuned.

Very impressive work you've done and on quite a budget too.

Hehe, its an MM tune, I'm waiting in the que. Still waiting for my base calibration..then have to send logs and wait for an updated tune. Then rinse and repeat. I dont expect to have it on the dyno again till near the end of the year.

That sucks .....

My gut feeling is that a MM tune wont solve your OK on street / lean at the dyno issue anyway .....

Eh...it is what it is. I knew the deal with MM before I went to him. So even if it takes the full 6 months I'll be happy as long as its properly tuned in the end.

I was honestly kinda dragging my feet and hoping to catch MM in florida or bribe Kane into coming down once he got back.

In the meantime my own tune is working fine on the street. I've proven I'm into the 300 club, next time I'm on the dyno I expect the 350 club. I'm daily driving the thing at 14psi and having a blast

Sure! I run 255 BFG KDWs. They grip really well, so I can manage wheelspin if I just wanna go fast without too much drama. And they hold up really well to abuse. Started running them with my vette and wont ever run anything else

I truly love MM's service, but FYI I purchased my AP on 07/09, started data logging the moment I got it. I just sent off my last data logs a couple weeks ago in hopes to get my 5th tune. so six months is optimistic for a final tune, granted I did no logging in the winter. you should have a really good tune but not completed, unless MM's work load decreases.

You know I love your build, but I say it again, I love your build!!!
maybe you make a manifold for me too?

I'm just going to do my best to ensure that MM isnt waiting on me or wasting time because I did something wrong. Ther est will handle itself

Thanks for the support
