The problem isn't the IC being rated for high HP and high heat dissapation..... it is the heat soak it gets from everything else in the engine bay as well as the hot coolant, especially when you come to a stop light, etc..... and we all know it is alot harder to cool water than air. I think regardless of size you are going to run into this issue...... I think you'll find that eventually you're going to want some sort of ice box or go to an air-air system. Just my opinion though! Good luck with the build you won't regret it!

Well yes and no. Too small of a system will get hot and not be able to get rid of the heat. With double the standard sized radiator it should shead heat twice as fast, but yes it is harder to cool the water. Also the intercooler is right behind the bumper. The radiator is right behind that. It shouldn't get much heat soak from everything else unless standing still.

I also have a 3 gallon water/ice box.

Water box covered in Lava Mat. The lava mat is for function(hopefully) i stall have to install the fittings. Then route an inlet tube up at the front an a suction from the bottom back of the box. Then install a coil in it. I have the base built but i have to build the supports for it.

I know all this probably makes very little difference but every little bit helps.

I am flowing the water, through the intercooler, from the throttle body side toward the turbo. That way the coldest water cools the coldest air.

Problem with that is you will heat the fuel even more than with a returnless system. The DW200 flows enough fuel to get us to over 400whp , so unless you are aiming higher, you are just recirculating fuel for no good reason.
I currently have my DW 300 set to run permanently on low speeed .....

Ahh, i do have a little idea for a fuel cooler also but haven't decided on it. Ill monitor fuel temps for a while and see what happens. I just got a heck of a deal on the 300. $35 dollars new with the install kit.

On a plus note, goodbox just arrived, water fitting for the turbo( my jic connections were too long). The adaptor harness to make my voltage divider/ remote air temp sensor. And a door actuator so my power locks work again.

Fitting up the 3" downpipe. Matching it up to the stock manifold position. With minimal bends.

Don't make fun of my nasty welds. I got the waste gate tacked in place now i just have to finish the welds and put the 3" flange on my down pipe/midpipe. Then the welding work should be done, but work calls. Ill be back to it in a few days.

Theres at least 1/4" between the waste gate and the trans. Nothing drops below the oil pan, but the waste gate gets close.

Or a coil off the ac, but thats a hell of a place to keep the beers.

I might need one big enough for a 6 pack.

Iat, exhaust sealant(no vband leaks fingers crossed), and shorter fittings for turbo water.

And an old pic of the turbo when it came in.

Its been non stop at work so its coming slow.

I just got the waste-gate flange welded on the manifold and have to weld the other side to the down pipe. Just a little gap there to fix.

Im going to put my single egt probe on the rear rotor rear port. It looks like that is the one that rubs hottest and has the most failures.

I feel the same way but it looks good for now. I also warped it with some lava wrap just in the part that is close to the cold side of the turbo to keep a little heat out of there. Held on with stainless baling wire.

The turbo is clocked just over 30 for good water flow and cooling.

The turbo sits 1/2" plus off the engine.

This is pretty tight clearance about 1/8". But they aren't touching and i wrapped it to keep the heat away.

Thanks man, its a lot of work especially the custom manifold. If you go for it let me know and ill give a little advice on turbo placement. At least where to start with it.

Honestly i would have bought the rx8 performance one but he wouldn't sell it with out the cold side piping.
