you might want to focus on getting it running and tuned first ...

lol Yeah I know less fluff more build..... I would love nothing more then to wrench on it and get that super charger on tomorrow. I have awhile before the tuning and final SC installation can happen.

SC parts should be going in for coating this week and the car will be back in the body shop for awhile as well. There are three of us locally all doing FI builds at the same time. It is our goal to have them tuned at the same time. I want the car to be fully prepped then do the SC install in the last few weeks before the tuning. The money is already set aside for that portion on my end.

There is still much prep work to be done before tuning. All the cooling and drivetrain mods have to be put it. 99% of it has been ordered. Sill need that darn 09+ Clutch TOB.

There also should be a bunch of injectors going in for blue printing and flow testing. Ill be sending in a full stock set of stock injectors and a set of four port blues. It is my plan to put the blues in the P2.

Hoss for our power level the oem injectors are ok? You dont need the blues, but I mean they can be used its just not an absolute. It may make tuning a little more difficult.
I like those seats! me want.

Sparco makes a RX-8 specific mount for there seats. I think they will look Great with the whole black gray thing going on in the interior. They are less expensive then one would think.

I am not 100% convinced the stock injectors will be enough and would rather have the head room that the blues in P2 will afford me. I ordered the $50.00 re-manufactured ones from discount fuel systems. I am very curious to see how well they flow.

I would at the very least like to have the blues on hand during tuning to swap out if we find the injectors pushing over 90% duty cycle.

Okay so Raul and I really got to get to know each other this weekend. I lost 10lbs and Raul lost a knocking noise and some bouncy bounce

If I could punch Stance in the face I would The rear springs were the wrong everything. We sort of knew that already but then the front springs they sent us had no marking on them so I have no way of knowing what spring rate they are but they were the right length and the coils were thicker so I went ahead and installed them as well.

I tried to account for the the longer springs in the rear and readjusted the coil-overs but now it actually sits a little higher in the rear than it did with the wrong shorter springs. I am hoping the rear just needs to settle, if not lower them some more is easy. But that will have to wait for the last of the body work to get done.

I also redid the Beatrush bracing as I was getting some major NVH after test driving it. I realigned the PPF and reattached the brace. It's better now but man those things cause some noise.

New correct springs on the left, old wrong ones on the right

O wow Huge difference in spring size! (from 170mm 6k - 200mm 8k) So now im running 10k front and 8 k rear 200mm springs.

I think the Beatrush stuff makes it extra noisy partially because of the bad/old motor mounts. Once those are replaced NVH should chill out a bit more.

ooh what model is that??
Its the Sparco R505 Torino.

Na everyone that runs beatrush chassis supports has a lot of nvh--sorry but that the way it is.
Curious as to why you want them? For tracking our chassis with good bars and coilovers is great.

now that is sweet--you know i spoke with him about this thing needing work--guess he believed me?
radius porting of the intake runners will give the intake charge a higher velocity. port matching to his beautiful porting jobs will make it even sweeter.

Port matching what exactly? I can send him my UIM but not sure It would help but at all up there. He should have the Manifold in hand now. He also has the valve system I believe, I wonder if there is a way to open those up just a bit or mod them to affect timing.....

I will have the springs swapped out this weekend just see if the stiffness is fixed. I am pretty sure the springs are marked incorrectly and the rears are 10k and the fronts are 6k. I am also going to finish the electronics up and possibly get the BHR pipe on so I can verify the wide band works.

cool man just let me know. although it may be a good idea to send if off for its inspection first. unless you know a guy.

Yeah having the springs in the wrong spot will Really mess it up.

Yeah the numbers on the springs are crudely engraved on them by what looks to be like a 5 year old so I don't have a lot of confidence that they are accurate, especially since not all the springs are even engraved.

yeah I think at this point it would be a safe bet to put the "thickest" springs in the front and the next "thickest" springs in the rear. As that should be the 10 and 8 k springs. I am hoping Fat Cat gets back to me soon about there custom set up.

are they the same lenght?
What kind of wideband did you get?. When i installed my innovate lc1--it was a pita to get it going. I had to use a special wire to supply power to it and had to get the grounds correct. But since then as long as i replace the sensor every year or so--it does fine.
What I did since i was not going to run a cat was i used the power supply that normaly supplied the rear o2 sensor. that did the ticket.

Swapping springs is a pita

Yes, finally they are the same length but the thickness of the coil is different on one set and on the second set, the thickness of the coil and length are the same but one pair is not marked and the other pair is. But I am not convinced they are marked correctly because the rear is bone jarring stiff.

Swapping the fronts on these is more of a PIA. The rears are pretty easy, just unbolt the bottom and slide the collars and springs off. It takes me longer to jack the car up on stands and take all the wheels off (band hand, no impact on those pretty lug nuts ).

The wideband is a PLX unit, it should integrate with the PLX modules pretty easy. It's mostly plug and play, very nice stuff.

Yep I wanted to be able to log all my sensors with one piece of software. I also dont like gauges and have there multi-display set up like mazsurfer.

Here is a funny story Scott, The wide band O2 has triple the power requirement of the other gauges however its still very low and about the same as the display module.

Did I mention all the PLX tables can also interface with the cobb and upcoming PPO software as well....

Its a Very slick set up but it was not cheap.

Up to 32 devices/sensors can be daisy chained and logged. Each "display" can show up to four parameters at the same time. I just saw a hack where a guy mounted a PLX display in his mirror where the back up display normally resides.
