Check that you are not pressurizing the sump . See thread for correct hose connections.

apparently you can remove/ install the wastegate without having to remove the turbo. I heard someone say they made a customer tool to access those 2 bolts as that's the main issue. I will ask around and if I find something I will share it.

Yeah that would be amazing! Thanks dude!

I haven't had a very close look at the actuator mounting yet as the car is in storage about 1/2 hour away from me, so trying to remember how it looks from memory and a few pics. Normally I was just F'in around with the arm and not the body itself which is accessible from the bottom of the car. I'm hoping its possible to get the right combo of extensions and get at it from underneath... we'll see. If I have to pull the turbo off the manifold it's not the end of the world, just prefer not to if it isn't necessary.

I say no way you can replace it without removing the turbo.

These are what I have to look at:

So I'd say for sure can get access by removing DP connection to turbo and the compressor inlet/90deg outlet pipe, then remove turbo from manifold and slide it forward a bit. Other option I will look at ahead of doing that though will be if I can remove the DP completely and maybe get at the actuator with it out of the way and leaving the turbo in place.... but I'm skeptical of having enough room. May try and add some more heat shielding while I have the turbo out of the way, I'm sure after 5 years that stuff will be looking a bit rough.

Sorry for the thread jack!

Well maybe if you remove it from the manifold and push it forward. But at that point why not just remove it completely.

Yeah I'm thinking if I can't get at it with the DP off, then may as well pull it all and have a once over of everything out of the car.

Take the mounts off, support the engine with a jack and a block of wood and push that bitch over to the drivers side

Moment of truth, going to replace the actuator after this weekend (I have Mon-Wed off next week) hoping I can just remove both mounts, shove engine over and get at the WG mount bolts from under the car.

Any updates on your build yurcivicsux??

good luck on that wastegate. hopefully i never have to do it.

updates yes- but no real action yet, waiting for the turbo to come back from BNR. sooooo excited for this, it is the smart choice... new turbo water cooled to match a freshly build bullet proof motor. so that being said i will also go with injectors, fuel pump and water/ meth along with the tune by thewird.

major brappage to come...... torture is waiting for it.

Ended up getting a hold on a vacuum pump this weekend. Pumped up my line from my EBC solenoid to my wastegate actuator and it held 15PSI for like 5 mins with no drop. So I decided not to replace the actuator and ended up installing my new rotors, pads and struts instead haha. Did an entire boost leak check on my couplers, wastegate actuator, BOV, and around my UIM. Sprayed it all down with soapy water and didn't see a damn bubble anywhere...

nice nice good hear mine would barely hold 6 psi. I got the new ATP gate and the BNR upgrade should be good to go. I'm thinking 16 psi tops we'll see what can be tune on water/meth that high. thewird is doing my build so I'm confident in whatever he recommends/ tunes for.

I've recently picked up a GReddy turbo kit so I'm interested in updates as well! I don't plan on making more than the stock GReddy turbo kit unit is capable of so should I go with the Cobb AP or an Adaptronic?

It depends on what tuning options you have available in your area.

COBB is fine for a simply greddy kit with 6-7psi, or i have even seen used Greddy e-manange for sale for mad cheap. this is also fine for a very simple set up and requires no tuning. (as ii understand)

adaptronic is good for advanced tuning and future applications;
-stand alone ECU with full tune-ability now and future
-will you be upgrading the turbo to like BNR or another hybrid which you will run more psi?
-will you replace the renesis with an REW if so you will need a the adaptronic
-what tuning options do you have in your area

.......find a tuner or someone in your area or even over the net that will be able to support your needs before buying anything. i went with Adaptronic because my tuner reps them so it was a win win for me + i'm running the BNR turbo and needed full tuning ability.

torture waiting and waiting....... but that' how these projects go i guess.

My kit has the emanage ultimate but its missing some pieces. Pieces only available through GReddy (PnP harness....and that's more expensive than a CobbAP). I'll probably go the Cobb route.

DO NOT use the E-Manage.... I highly recommend the Cobb for price vs simplicity to use (that's what I use on my stock Greddy kit running 9psi with EBC). You just need to find someone to tune it for you unless you are learning on your own.
