If you're going for higher level engine management are you planning to change the redline/fuel cutoff?

short term doesn't count because it changes too fast, but it's hovering around zero....+- 3%

i really don't want to flog it too bad until it has a couple hundred miles on it, but i think strappin it on the dyno in the next few days might be a good idea to figure out where the afr is under load.

my only real concern is if it is misfiring (which i can't feel from the driver's seat), it might possibly damage and melt the cat...that'd jack up the power real quick! so if the cat were gutted, i wouldn't worry too much about it, but having the car pass smog is still one of our goals.

i've got just over 70 miles on the car now and it feels awesome!! i couldn't help but open it up once through 1st and second gear, then through 2nd and 3rd gear later on. now there's actually an audible difference in the upper rpm range when the vtec..uhhh, i mean aux. ports open up. definately a noticable power gain, but that's all i'm going to do for now--it'll be in commuter mode for the rest of the (re)break-in.

snapon told me about "CLEARING ECCENTRIC SHAFT PLATE PROFILE MEMORY FROM PCM"
i think that's where my dtc is coming from.

Literally I am too siked, the last post I read b4 I went to bed was that it didn't turn over.....yeah that didn't help my sleep. And the next I heard anything was about 10 minutes ago when I came home and got my cell with Dave's message that it's running good. This is totally awesome. Can I go up 2marow night and pick it up. Around 10ish. If so I would totally dig it. And just driving it home, to work and around, then back up to the dyno in a few days we'll have around 3 or 400 miles on it. YAAAAAY!!!

Dave have you tried the ECU reset thing. Where you like disconnect the battery then hook it back up and then press the accelerator 10 times. Because I think this has cleared CEL on cars after other mods. I'm probably mistaken about everything so feel free to disregard this hehe. Just trying to use what I've learned off of the boards.

P.S. And when you say audible difference what are we talking about. Like "WHAAAAA" or "BRUUUUUH" (those are my best phonetics for deeper or just louder)

I think the word is psyched. Though I would be too.

I also thought that the ECU reset was 20 presses of the brake pedal and was changed after some flash or another.

Excellent work fellas, I hope this turns out as awesome as we have all been hoping for.

Good luck with your car, Snooch.

All I can say is "hot damn!"... it looks like Santa has brought us all a beautiful present for Christmas.

Hmm... plus 20-30%... I like that. And even with engine pulling and all... cheaper than FI (granted less gain too) and less conspicious. This just keeps looking better and better. I can't wait to see the dynos.

snooch,
i swear it sounds just like vtec when the ports open, only not quite as loud. it's funny.

tonight would be just fine for pickup...i'm thinking aobut just doing the dyno pull today because if it doesn't get done right now, it'll have to be after christmas....maybe new year's... i think we'll ger flogged if we make people wait that long. lol

Awesome! Any chance of recording the dyno? A good audio sample with the car under load would be great!

So if I wanted to do this to a Certain Future car, yet to be purchased, Do you think you could duplicate it pretty accurately?

Also what would you charge, and what would I need to send you, the engine, or just the parts that are to be ported?

i can pump these out like an assembly line..lol
as far as price is concerned, i'm not allowed to advertise until i pay vendor fees, so pm or email me if you want to discuss that. guitarjunkie28@hotmail.com

i would pay the vendor fees right now, but since my car just got stolen, i've got to save up to build a new one. that was a crushing blow.

iceman,
you can drop the whole car off and have a "full service" operation done, send me the motor for a rebuild, or just send the irons...whatever you want as far as that is concerned.

Ah well I live in Birmingham, AL, so dropping off a Whole car, would be tough, more likely I'll have it pulled by a Mechanic and send you just the engine.
