Also, pull the ignition below 1500 rpm to a minimum. It will make it idle smoother and lets you run it a bit leaner..

Haha sorry guys it's not that complicated I got it running properly late friday. I feel like such an idiot. I didn't realize that the car had a MAP/Baro Sensor and I had left it on the air pump. Reinstalled it and it runs fine now.

Only current problem is there is a minor leak coming from my sandwich plate which I have yet to resolve. The kit runs great!

How's the tuning coming along Static? Getting it perfected yet? Did you get different coils put in?

The wastegate will not be affected by rain or snow. It is no different than having it anywhere near the bottom of the car, its just another exhaust component and those are meant to be on/near the bottom of the car anyways. It will still get splashed by water and snow but because it is made of high quality stainless steel and aluminum there should be no corrosion problems.

Thanks for the input. I really want this kit, but I was just concerned about the wastegate location. Im here in Colorado and we have all 4 seasons in 1 day.

wow this thread has really died over the last couple months....

has interest in this kit died that much, or just that people interested/using it are not on this forum?

I think watching the wastegate bounce off of the pavement when you drive this thing pretty much killed the thread.

Jeff, I dont think it's THAT low, although I wouldn't be surprised if it did that

however, it's better than SR20 turboes, their internal wastegate is always stuck open, and the turbo never spools, whats the point.....

Yes, it is THAT low and no, its very different than that. An open wastegate won't cause an engine to blow. However, a broken wastegate can cause the boost to spike and BOOM.

Those pictures don't do it justice.
On a car that is even moderately lowered (who isn't?), the WG is barely 3cm off of the pavement.

Simply not true.
Here is the proper way to install an external wastegate in that position:

uhh...did you actually measure that?

Have you actually seen an installed kit and looked under the car.

Your estimate is pretty off actually... the WG head only sticks out a little more than 1" from the bottom of the cross member. With the ground clearance of a stock car being about 5.5"-6" and a lowered one being about 4.5" in this area that would put the wastegate at about 3.75"-5" off the ground depending on how lowered the car is. This more than you can say for a lot of other sport cars. Don't judge ground clearance by looking at the bottom of the front bumper. The actual clearance of under car components is more.
