More notes on the bridgeport... it's inducing about 35* or so of overlap with the methodology I've developed where the cuts are on the 3rd and 4th intake ports. This is only a partial bridgeport. I've not done a full bridgeport with cuts on the center iron primary ports alone or in tandem with the 3rd/4th ports. We're still looking to nail down more time on the dyno and hunt for better power/torque curves with the LIM's valves' manipulation. Haven't done that. Just need more time with it still.

Might get a whole 25 minutes if we fuel her to the brim for a long, slow stage

More like 10-12 minutes usually

Once we tuned the idle, It didn't really brap any more sadly. It kinda lumps every now and then, but it's not consistent or very audible. Nothing like some of Brian's 13bs in the RX7s where it's really prominent.

Eric,
My fiancee would castrate me if I only got 70 minutes out of a tank... lol, But yea, I understand that's WOT.

I posted a you tube vid of the idle before we tuned it...

It's pretty muddled. There's not much to it like on the older motors. Those are particularly harsh and brappy; the Renesis ones aren't.

Great thread, I'm not surprised at all to see these gains on the Renesis having had several long talks with Brian when I was having him build my motor. I ended up selling the motor to a customer of his, but its awesome to see Eric working with him and the results. Keep up the good work guys.

I don't know, a big block with a high lift cam (or an LS1) might fit in an 8.

It might use less radiator too

Why not 'untune' it and get that brap back ?

I'd rather it run correctly than poorly for the sake of sound. I want it to last as long as possible.

Turbo or blower I don't care, but put some boost to that puppy.

Is that your excuse for not running a dyno yet too?

Nope, Don't have $100 to blow, and there's an issue with my clutch. So I won't have the opportunity to dyno it till after my wedding in September, and I get my clutch issues resolved. Will happen eventually, but it's not a priority right now.

I'm sure my results will be similar to Eric's due to the fact that it's the exact same port work, but most likely a slightly lower total power due to me being less experienced at tuning, and not having access to racing quality setups (long header manifold, etc). We'll just have to see cause I'm sure the dyno will report a little differently too. We have a dyno-jet here locally.

Rote8,
I'm hoping to do something about that by next summer. We'll see how things go. I have to come up with more disposable income first. We have to buy a house by next spring, so that eats into any potential spending money I may have, and I'd really like to get my RX7 up and running again. I'm about $3k shy having everything I need to put my 20b together for the FC. In the end, the RX8 is still the daily... But I've seriously considered it.

It would be awesome to see a solid 500RWHP from a Renesis
