The uncorrected VD numbers have proven pretty close in the past and I know it's way more powerful than the old turbo setup which made 375whp ....

I'm thinking 400 won't be a problem , but I doubt it will go much over that based on what i'm seeing.

This is where i think the problem lies : The clearance of the inducer checks out but there seems to be too much gap at the radius which suggests too much at the exducer as well. Doesn't look too bad in the pic but can def see more gap there than there is at the inducer.

looks tight at the back end of the fins though, are you sure the wheel is not fubar; the leading edge appears to be cut back or worn for about 2/3 of the forward length hard to say if I'm seeing it properly in a picture though

It's fine along the parallel portion , it's when the radius starts that the gap opens up ... approx. 0.2 -0.3mm extra gap , going off my eye-chrometer . Can't see it properly in the pic.

Not seeing what you mean re leading edge wear ...

Nope . The housing was machined out . Those marks are just sanding marks

Is this normal? I think this is what looks funny to me. Compared to what I see in the BNR I have at the house and what mine looked like.

It's a wild guess, but I still think it's a issue of too much timing. It would show up as lower EGTs and higher ECTs and Oil temp with a corresponding power loss. It could definitely cause a turbo to spool badly, and rather quickly destroy an engine.

Don't agree .............. have a play with your own setup and see if you can lose 1000 rpm of spool .

I've tuned dozens of turbo renesis engines ............. never seen timing make any significant difference to spoolup yet

I'm thinking he may have meant too little timing rather than too much, otherwise I'd expect it to detonate into oblivion before going that far off since you mostly run pump fuel ...

Yes ..... I think if i ran something ridiculous like -10 on the leading and -25 on the trailing ...... it might have an effect ..... but i might just notice that the engine was running like **** ...........

have you had anyone else drive it or ride in it, do they claim it has slow spool up?
to me your logs look great.

Yes a few . It's just my expectations really . I set out to achieve a goal and fell short . But i refuse to believe that's as good as it gets .

It does make boost from below 3000rpm but is quite lazy in getting to 16plus which is not like a large turbo characteristic . This gives me hope that there is still something unresolved that will make all the difference.

I have been for a ride in his car multiple times (before and after the latest setup changes),
I don't think this setup is too laggy (compared to my turbo rx8 and other turbo cars ive had experience with) but it definitely feels like it could be better compared to his previous setups,
But once boost comes on...... it absolutely hauls,

P.S. Brettus - I'm still waiting for that drive you promised me

New turbo setup seems to have survived it's first track day without issue . Ran it at quite low boost though.
