the numbers have nothing to with my emotions, in the meantime the turbo spools so slow I suppose I can't blame you for killing the time by attempting to hurl personal insults at me

Lets see a dyno overlay of this and the previous setup

Duuuuuude... Chill out. It's pointless doing Dyno comparisons at the moment because the current system isn't finished nor is it tuned on a good engine yet. Let him do his thing and compare results when it's done and he's happy with it.

You'd get a better comparison by throwing 2 apples at a wall to see which one makes the most mess. It's a pointless exercise ATM.

I see what you did there... We need a rimshot and audience groan smiley

My point was Brettus is making great progress and you're poopoo'ing it before he's done. Stop it with the Debbie Downer...

Wait, you have emotions?

That top end bump isn't that the vdi kicking in? I have observed this with my vdi on and flatter when its off.

Not poopooing anything, that is a creation of your own outlook. Great top end power, no low end spool, peak torque and hp @ 8200. These are facts, which I never said this project sucks or anything negative against it. What I see is the potential that even with the engine in it's present condition is that it can have spool and still hit the top end target. That is the "obviousness" I'm referring too.

Laying this dyno along with a dyno with a dyno of the other setup when it had a similar engine condition is a viable comparison. I suppose Shambo will want to spend my money next ...

Good point Fazda . I used to disable the VDI but reactivated it a few years back when I noticed a slight bump in power with it on once power levels got higher.
Certainly a possibility.
Also tweaked the 'gain' value on the EBC as I noticed boost was steadily climbing as rpm increased . I now have a dead flat boost profile , so that will definitely reduce that top end bump.

All I said was that you were never happy .... seems to be a statement of fact to me . Not an insult .

Maybe tell me what would impress you .......... if I were to achieve my stated goals at the beginning of this thread perhaps ? Or would you still be throwing REW EFR spoolup stories down my throat ?

I was advising it may be better to do that before any "major" changes, that is all.

You may be a very nice guy in person, but some of your posts appear invidious at times. I haven't made any sort of personal judgement on you nor have I insulted you. I am offering my 2cents on Brettus design & when he responds I respect his decision, I don't keep pushing my opinion on him as to what he should do.

maybe we should end the derailment of this thread and concentrate on letting him do what he is doing, making a good setup, better.

Must say I'm impressed by progress of this build. It's a lot of work all this, and you haven't used much time really. Its easy for us to open the browser and suggest things. You actually put it into life. Great job.

Thanks for that . To be fair , I just told someone else what to build and they did it . I am very fortunate that I found someone very close with excellent fabrication skills and some imagination to be able to achieve what looked impossible. I'm really happy with the work he did even if the cost was high .

The same guy built an RX8 turbo kit here that I had a lot of input into (and tuned) . That setup went to a guy that drifts and knows how to punish a car. It has lasted amazingly well so I knew this guy was the right man for the job.

Hit my target boost of 18psi tonight . All seems fine but I can't help thinking I'm 30-40 whp shy of where it could be due to the low compression on the engine.

Better be spraying some water or that engine won't last long.
