Don't forget about the 1/2" or so that the transmission sticks out past the engine right there. If you have an extra shield that fits there it will help with the fitting.
Will be supplying a dummy engine PLUS the whole car to the fabricator ........... so he will have no excuses !

Your turbo looks it sits quite a bit higher than what I'm planning .

It sits a bit higher than yours in that pic, but I had to clear the frame rail with the hot side inlet. it is very close. That plate was just a reminder. I wouldn't think you'd put that on a complete engine.

I had tucked my hot side as close to the engine as possible and I had to move the mounting flange to make it fit once I installed it in the engine.

This looks promising. Just a gut feeling though.

Best of luck!

The compressor housing isn't any bigger than the Greddy one ....

Here you can see where I barely managed to squeeze it in front of the transmission.

here is where the turbo meets manifold. It is about 1/4" clearance from the engine cradle. I wanted to pull it further back and lower but I had to move it forward, due to the trans and up to clear the cradle. then I had to turn the hot side away from the engine and tuck in the cold side to theinlet was pointing forward and I did not have to weld on a funky bend like turblown does.

here's the best view of the turbo on manifold without everything in the bay for referance on the distance from engine required.

Haha . The early spoolup is the thing I'm most excited about achieving TBH..... the 400 shouldn't be a problem

The plan at this stage is to use my current engine and take it to the limit ... then depending on how things go ..... refresh the engine and make any improvements to the design at that might be necessary.
