If you don't mind me asking
Track setup is not really that great - I prefer the car to ride well on the road.
I have Mazdaspeed shocks and springs with 19x8.5 + 35 wheels and 245/35/19 tyres . I do have HKS hpermax11 shocks on the back ATM but have not tried this at the track yet.

A local three rotor RX8 guy is running the same set up. Should work well for you.

Hard to come by over here. Mazda Motorsport members can buy a new one, only source of I'm aware of in the USA exc ept for importing one. That won't be cheap either.

R51K-03-000 GEARBOX, 5 SPEED RX-8 13B RENESIS 2004-2005 $2758.45

Notes: RX-8 (JAPAN MARKET)

yeah, a 6 spd is only $1,600

in theory the 5 spd FD3 aftermarket upgrades should fit, PAR Engineering has both full race dog gear set and also synchromesh street gear sets that are nice. There is also OS Giken etc.

Mine was an opportunity too good to miss .... bought in on line auction for $100 . It's done 90,000kms but i figured for that price i can rebuild it and it would still be a deal.

it looks like that or more You should look into an aftermarket gear set if you overhaul it

dznutzuk would be the person who can likely provide the most info on the comparison

https://www.rx8club.com/major-horsep...setups-225750/

apparently all you need is an FD3 trans and then the bellhousing and tailhousing from the 5 spd RX8 to swap over and then it should bolt on.

Maybe more ... dunno . Figured i would try it out , see how the ratios worked out for me and rebuild it if it needed it . The guy that did my engine offered a full rebuild for $700ish .

Only if he hardly replaces any parts. You can spend that much in parts alone in the blink of an eye.

She lives !!!!

Really liking the new gear ratios
3rd is perfect for around town
5th is now exactly 3000rpm at 100km/hr and 3500 at 120km/hr - just where i wanted it !

Went back to stock flywheel (from ACT Prolite) and I'm very glad i did !

Low speed torque unaffected by Brettspeed runner mod - better if anything .
