any word about whether this will work over here in the left side drivers? I asked japanparts.com a few weeks ago. They said they'd get back to me about a remap or what, and I haven't heard anything.

It's taken time, but:

I've talked to BLITZ about their Supercharger conversion; they suggest this hasn't been done to a Left hand drive Unit and their concern is compatability of the "piggyback Unit" with the US models ECU; which likely differs to JDM or other export models

The guy that posted about the conversion he has done here in earlier postings is in NZ; that means he will have a Right hand drive ( possibly Japanese domestic ) model RX-8

BLITZ assure us there is *no* issue with a Right Hand Drive model, and we have sold the Supercharger conversion for RHD models, and can confirm that installation wasn't an issue ( Part links below )

This is what BLITZ has used as a testbed for their Supercharger

We have made the offer several times to RX8 Club members that we will provide a Kit at Cost to an RX8 Club member with a LHD RX-8 provided:

(1) they have access to a professional install shop and/or competent mechanic/engineer who will do the install
(2) we are provided with a decent quality install *blog* as the install happens ( pictures/description )
(3) we are provided with torque/hp dyno figures once the Kits installed

What we will provide is:

The Kit at Cost
Technical support from the manufacturer + translation of the install instructions

What we *won't do* is:

Provide the Kit for Free
Make the offer available to anyone who can't fulfill (1), (2) and (3)
Make the offer to more than one RX8Club member

i offered 2k and fulllfillment of 1,2 and 3, but that was too low, if that gives you an idea.

Well the Blitz kit is bling and adds 50-60hp and cheaper than the Pettit kit. I would do it if I had the cash.
