Alright, edited the front page with the latest news. Things are going a little slower than expected, but that is partially because I keep buying more things I want installed. Racing Brake BBK, matching 2-piece rear rotors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, and HKS Hi-Power single outlet exhaust have all been added to the installation plan since it went in. I will hardly recognize the car when I go pick it up!

The last word I heard as of yesterday is the car will be done tomorrow or Saturday... *fingers crossed* I'm -supposed- to be getting pictures today, and I'll have a video of the car on the dyno. I'll post the dyno sheet as well in my vBGarage.

My advice would be not to install everything at once . Almost every time a new thing is installed there are little bugs that need to be ironed out . If you install everything at once you end up with a shitload of bugs and it is hard to know where to start in the de-bugging .

Pretty Cool. BTW, how much would a turbo install cost anyway?

Yeah, the thing is, with the exhaust I needed to get that done before the tune, because I don't want to have to redo my tune for a $500 part. The dyno tune costs $600. The fuel pump is a standard upgrade they do with all turbocharged 8s there, and matches Jeff's findings for the best option for fuel pumps, so getting that done is a no brainer. The only other item I've added on beyond the kit is the brakes, and while they may have to monkey with them to get them to work... its not like the brakes will interfere with the turbo kit.

I'm just really looking forward to the car being "done". I miss my car, its been gone a month tomorrow, and SUPPOSEDLY I'll be getting it back tomorrow or Saturday. We'll see if that has any chance of happening or not. They haven't been good about getting back to me with pictures and updates on the progress.

I'll be writing up a review on the shop's work once the project is finished and I have my car back. Communication could definitely be better, but if the work is good then I can forgive a lot.

As far as how much to install, it depends on the parts and labor involved... the cost for the turbo kit, meth controller, fuel pump, and non-brake related goodies for me was about $1700. Dyno tuning with the AccessPORT was $600.

No, I did not get my car back yet... I'll update with some details tomorrow. Suffice to say I'm having some communication problems with the shop and we're working through them.

Sorry to hear that. It took them a few days longer to get my car back too. Let me know what you think about their tune with the AP. I would be interested to see.

Well, the good news is the car should be done tomorrow or Thursday hopefully. I'm betting on Thursday at the earliest. The brakes are on, the exhaust is on, the fuel pump is in, the piping is mostly done, and they were running the meth and boost controllers when I talked to them this afternoon. They are basically down to a few finishing bits of the physical install and tuning.

Yeah, I absolutely can't wait... I'm going to make the most incoherent post when I get home after driving it the first time. I've been working on this build basically since I got the car over a year ago. Having it all finally done is going to be awesome.

edit: Oh and PFS is taking care of a couple of extras that will make it look really nice... they swapped my garish orange couplers with a new set of black silicone ones, and are painting the rear calipers to match the Racing Brake front ones. It should look nice and go fast as hell.

Not to put too much of a damper on it, but don't expect that first ride to be all that encouraging.
If they are just now finishing the install, there is a pretty good chance the tuning will be all over the place at first.

Yeah, I'm kind of planning on getting the car this weekend to hopefully give them some time to fix some kinks... We'll see how it goes, but after the delays with getting the pieces installed I'm expecting some delays getting it all working together.

Talked to Ray from PFS today, and the earliest I'm going to have the car is Saturday. More delays. Saturday will also be the 37th day I've had my car at their shop.

Alright, while the work has been majorly delayed they are getting some good progress now. I have updated the first post with pics of the car at PFS. No definite pick up date, but I'm getting daily updates now. Closer hopefully.

So are you going to put together a quick meet for everyone to check out the car when you get it back?

Well thats not what its "for", but I'm certainly hoping to show it off at the crabfest meet. Then again, with the continuous "communication problems" I don't know what the eta on the car is at this point. I'm planning to drive out to the shop tomorrow to see the progress in person because I'm getting a bit frustrated at this point. I got a cryptic call yesterday about fitment issues with the turbo, and at least some of the things they told me where done don't appear to be done yet so I need to get a more direct hand in this build.

Does anybody know which injector bank needs to be swapped with the 650ccs? I thought it was listed on the MM upgrade site but it isn't and I can't seem to find the info on the club via search. Jeff is en route to CA right now and not picking up his phone and the shop has my UIM off waiting for the word on which injectors need to be swapped. The turbo is installed finally...
