don't move this thread RG, you'll KILL Richard's poor post count. With his typing, we know how long it'll take him to regain those.

I'm sure he'll start a new thread when his 'test' car has logged some miles on it.

Thats not true on page 196 there was a relevant post. And that means that only the last 2% of the pages dont have relevant posts on it and that aint bad.

I just got my computer back from a week in the sick computer hospital. I havn't tried all the programs but everything is supposed to work. Maybe I can put in pictures now.
Anyway I will confirm that we are talking with Cobb Tuning. I don't have much more inside info then some of you have so I will not call out dates.
I will say that I think this is a great match for the AFSC.

At this moment we have plans to ship our car up to Utah at the end of the month for some match up work. Trey tells me he can tune the car right now but the suppling of production type hardware is waiting on some fine componant rework and vender interface parts. They are a proven commodity and I beleive them.

As you guys know I am out of water when it comes to computer work. I can tell you the reason why we will not release the SC before we have our own electronics. If we give it to someone who blows an engine or just has poor results it will damage the image even if it is not our fault.

It's would be bad enough if we did something wrong but at least we would be getting because we screwed up. This doesn't mean that we will not sell it bare after the kit is out. Then we could always defend ourselves by pointing to good installationss. I'm not saying someone can't do it better, maybe they can but we need to be conservitive.

Again, everything seems to be on hold as we wait for COBB to finish their engine management.

I'm no expert but I fail to see how the stock ECU can be configured to control fuel and spark when it has no idea what is the most important parameter is - Boost .
I await with interest to see how this will work with the AFSC .

He already "revealed" it at SevenStock IX.

The PCM understands airflow. So far, even at 14PSI or so, it seems the MAF doesn't run out.
So, that is how its done. No mystery.

What do you mean? Do you mean has there been a vehicle that operates in positive manifold pressure using only a MAF to measure air flow?
Of course.

Sort of . Has an NA car been converted to F/I then had the ECU reprogrammed in this way .

Next question does it work well ?

According to Cobb, the MAF is good to 500hp+ and that it will work very well.

Cobb has had the "Coming Soon" image up for us going on a year now. If they can do it as well as they claim, there's no excuse for that. Load the RX-8 specific Firmware into the GP unit and start shipping.

sure- i can point you to at least 2 examples ; 1 turbo and 1 supercharged. a blue car and a white car. several of us; including myself ,brillo, ajax, rg etc had conversations with the guy who did the tuning. (we have also held the supercharge in our hands) he had no problems setting up the tuning and changing the flow tables for the MAF to work exactly as you would want it too. coincidentally he was hired from where he was working at the time to go work on a certain t-charged crossover program.

There's also a factory MAP sensor in there. It may only be single bar sensor, though.

Uh, no.
You might be thinking the BARO sensor, but it is outside of the engine and doesn't have nearly enough granularity to be used for anything other than checking the relative altitude of the vehicle.
