It's like asking a Porsche owner for feedback on purchasing a used Geo Metro.

as cold as it may sound, if you don't have the background or understanding about things it's not the other persons problem, that person has his own set of stresses, issues, problems, time restraints etc. in life to deal with too
No one demands anything of MM. I never expected anything of him. But IF he is going to offer input on something the least he could do is try to offer something more than a wordy version of "figure it out yourself, stupid"

i've always assumed (and could/most likely am wrong) that his answers are vague for a purely business minded reason. He makes a living doing what most people are asking questions about, if he was to simply give straight answers he would in theory be giving away something that he charges others a fee for.

Yes a straight answer would be easier for the person asking the question but I rather enjoy the Socratic method he employs.

I agree laythor, its not like he is a professor here for teaching and educational purposes.

He has helped countless times with countless issues that have little or no return for him.

It would be so easy to just stop treating some experienced folks like knowledge baskets from where we can pick up things and treat'em as human beings.
We feel like everything is due to us so we demand and not simply ask and I find it to be wrong.
Be it MM, Kane, Team, Charles R. Hill etc that's just not the way it works imho.

I think this is exactly it. It even goes so far that when forum members have tried to start a discussion in an attempt to learn these things he'll jump in and disrupt or derail the discussion to make sure noone learns his secret of fire. As soon as he sees someone banging a couple of rocks together he runs over and clubs them on the head so they never want to try again or forget what they were doing completely.

I really dont have a problem with MM. It just kills me to come in this thread and see one guy trying to help followed by a page of people bashing him for trying. Just like most other threads in this and the tuning section.

Thast not it at all. If you dont want to help, thats fine dont. But dont disrupt those trying to help, trying to learn.

His secrets of fire are actually revealed in his webinars so i don't think that's the case.
Everybody could learn how to tune cars, build and pick up turbos etc but somebody looking for a professional would still contact him. That's not defending his business, is a way to stimulate research and the overall study of a subject.
Add the fact that Jeff has spent years developing his dramatis persona (the one that you would call "*******" actually!) and I think that you've got the equation figured out.

All in all we're driving this thread OT so... 'gnight

in the world of intelligent people telling someone how they should respond as you did above is a demand

see, this is what happens. why should I be wasting my limited break time at work arguing about this with you?

go figure it out yourself, stupid

Well this devolved rather quickly...

Ill just throw this out there...i wouldnt consider myself a close friend of Jeff's, but he's always answered every question i've had for him...in a pretty straightfoward (albeit not always considerate or kind) manner BUT...im also a customer...

I've got a question: Jeff...you've driven my car...right? Now, using the torque and hp curves as the ONLY factor (assuming everything else like weight, suspension, etc is constant), which car wins around a track...yours or mine...and why?

Of course, you dont have to answer... especially if you think this will turn to a "HP vs Torque" **** fight HAHAHAHA!!!

Feel free to hit me off line if you dont want to fling poo.

i dont have one for my car because I dont have anything to grab it currently

but i can flood you with images of maf curves from other cars just from a google image search if you want.

i could also link to pages and pages of stuff about calibrating/tuning maf curves

lol.. i noticed this with most people that are very knowledgeable in certain subjects, some can come off as complete jerks, and *** holes. but at the same time they do a++ work and deliver when you need them too, even tho they have there comments you may not like. if u lean take it as it is u can learn i know some cant but

and since this is not the rx7 fourm, unlike that one we people just cant be banned for complaining or asking dumb questions .

I do agree, I see MM helping people out more than anyone else, ACTUAL HELP, not just "oh, if you do that you're dumb" kind of help either. I mean down and dirty hands on help. Point was missed earlier though and I won't drag this on but "it's not what you say (necessarily), it's how you say it", oh and one more "treat others as you wish to be treated". Btw - It wasn't right to single anyone out, more specifically, MM, the comments/posts were meant to be general in nature...

So back on "track".
In addition to "around a track" how about just in a straight line, dragstrip?

Not only that but all those people bashing me were just jumping on MM's bandwagon thinking they were clever in agreeing with him.

Now if anyone has any new information that PROVES that what I posted was in some way wrong , i'll gladly bend over yet again and let MM put his flag where he wants .

I call BS, Brettus ... You can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink. He's doing you a favor by pointing out the problem with your curve. Now deal with it... you may actually learn something in the process.

And , according to Zoom's attachment, not only is your arc flawed, what's left of a curve is inside out!

No need to get upset with MM. Remember, even he didnt know much at first (go back and read old threads/post). But he physically tried EVERYTHING at his disposal over and over, combined with mathematics.. Me and you can do the same. Math & physics dont change, only the variables. So if u think hes being an ***, do your own research and stop asking him questions and/or replying to his responses. Keep track of what works and what doesnt work. Its not a big deal guys.

So , here it is .
The first chart is my original that most of you seem to think is so horribly wrong . The second is the way most of you would all like to see it presented . The first one has a different scale for the last 5 numbers . The second uses the same scale all the way through.
The key here is that both charts represent the exact same settings

NOTE : in both charts 4.65v shows g/s at 346 . yet one is a straight line and one kinks to the right ! If you can't understand why that might be I suggest you go back to school.

mind you that my posts after the first and that link are for folks who asked "why" and for comparisons.

Brettus had already explained that he cant chart worth a damn ( )
