9krpmrx8's Boost Build Thread
maybe we have very dirty gas in Ga? I always buy from the top tier brands at stations that are busy. But gas quality does vary from place to place--no doubt.
I took the actual fuel filter apart on one a few years back. You could wipe black **** off it. An engineer friend i met through this forum happened to work at Denso. I sent him a symptomatic ( fuel starvation on track on high g left turn) pump assembly and the flow rate was down 40%. The fuel pressure was ok during low demand times--but dropped during the high demand times--i cant remember how much.
Its an old thread on here somewhere.
Mazmart has a low mileage S2 model now.

When I replaced the stock unit with the walbro pump I also noticed that my sock was VERY clean; like almost brand new clean. Using Shell 91 octane fuel as often as possible since ownership of the car...

Pulling the turbo as soon as I get a chance and I am sending it to Turblown for an upgrade/rebuild with a properly orientated CHRA, hard lines for the coolant, etc.

No boost, turbo just took a ****, when cold it leaks oil into the exhaust and a bit into the charge pipe. Bad rebuild I guess but I've already sent it back to AMR once so I'm done with messing with them. So Turblown it is.
When do you get back mike?

Nah, I reclocked it, eliminated the coolant lines temporarily, and even with the drain perfectly straight down it still does it. Setup both ways it only does it for a minute or two at start up and then goes away. It hasn't even seen boost
But I'm done screwing with it so it was BNR or Turblown and I chose Turblown. So we shall see how it goes
Live and learn.

I'm not discouraged
I knew I was taking a risk going with someone who was not familiar with the RX-8 and how the turbo mounts on the Greddy. Sending pics of how I wanted it wasn't enough, I assumed we were on the same page and we were not so it's my fault really. I could have it redone by AMR but I think it's best to just let someone familiar with the 8 handle it.
It wasn't my first mistake modding and it won't be my last

There is a guy locally who had well over 100k in his 20B Turbo FD and he lost his job and had to sell it for around 40k. I felt really bad for him, he tried to hold on to it for as long as possible but he was just jobless for too long.
