Or you can disconnect the resistor and jumper across the two pins in the wiring harness connector, same thing

On two different top mount systems with 61mm compressors the walbro 255lph ran out of flow past 11psi.

Pain in the ***. Does anyone know if the Aermotive will be a direct swap since the pump has been fitted with the Walbro already? I searched but couldn't really find anything definitive. I think MM has run it but has anyone else run it in the factory fuel pump assembly?

They make different sized units. The stealth ones are nice as they should be much more silent then the Walbaro unit but still be able to flow much more.

It's weird they don't have the 8 as a supported application for their intank units. they have a 323 listed but no rx-8...

We just need to find out what the Walbro one was meant to replace (7,miata, protege, etc) and get the unit that supports that same car. Anyone have a part number for the walbro?

I have the part number for the Aeromotive pump at home, I'm at school right now so I'll post it later if no one else does, as far as I remember it's a drop in replacement but I do remember reading something about the polarity of the electrical connections being reversed, not 100% on that part of it though.

Well I got the walbro number GSS342, looks like its aeromotive part number 11142.

Since they both fit the same cars I assuming it will be a direct swap, don't see any reason for it not to be.

More money... My build will never be finished this sucks. $179 :/

1 Plenty of people still use the Walbro and it works fine for them.
2 Fuel pressure fluctuations could well be high/low speed switching .
3 how about checking FP when it actually needs consistency - IE in BOOST !
4 stop being so ****

Yup Part Number is 11142

And yea I'm pretty sure it's a drop in replacement.

Yes, Aeromotive also includes a new one, but I'm not sure if it fits properly in the RX8 Fuel Pump housing.
Includes universal filter sock – may not fit in some applications (see OEM filter replacement recommendations)
Edit: Looked at other pics and they show the filter sock they include, it's rectangular and definitely wouldn't fit but the OEM one should no problem.

Don't see why it wouldn't its the same exact replacement. Still need to melt the pop off valve but other than that you should be good.

****, more money to spend Many I really don't want to melt anything, that just sounds like something I would screw up.

Melting the pop off valve is super easy... if you want pics lemme know and I'll send ya some, I took some really good ones to show exactly how I melted it.

And quite complaining... building the car is half the fun

Ha, Ha, Ha. I am actually thinking it is just when the tank is low because I went out tonight and filled up and I drove around for a while and didn't have the issue. It stayed pegged at 60 PSI. It's so hard to stay out of boost though, the car is running so smooth. It's just the damn smoke at startup that is annoying. A little bit of oil drains back into the turbo when it sits for a long while and burns off at start up. So I guess I'm gonna have to clocked it fully so the the drain is completely straight down and then get creative with the coolant lines.
